By

If it’s meant to be, it will be.

They say that sometimes things fall apart to fall back together. And while breakups are normal in the celebrity world, romantics comebacks are just as common.

Though it might have taken them years to meet again as new people, these couples prove that with trust, communication, and transparency, getting back together is possible.

Meet the celebrity couples who shook up the showbiz world with their comebacks.

Maja Salvador and Rambo Nuñez

Young love is really something else. Maja and Rambo were only in their early twenties when they broke up, not due to differences, but because they each had their own career paths to take.

With Maja now having achieved stardom as an actress and entrepreneur, it wasn’t long before she found herself back in the arms of the man who isn’t in the spotlight at all.

In an exclusive sit-down with MEGA Entertainment editor G3 San Diego, Maja shared that Rambo was a sweet exception for the star.

“Hindi ako mahilig magbigay ng second chance. Parang wala akong binalikan,” Maja shared. “Pero with Rambo, feeling ko kasi wala naman third party at that time (na naghiwalay kami), tapos ‘yung family niya—iba ‘pag gusto ka ng family iba kapag mahal ka ng family.

Even though Maja also had her fair share of relationships in the spotlight, she knew that going back to Rambo was only a matter of time because of how they fit with each other: “Bata pa kasi ako, but with Rambo, siya kasi yung mas matanda sa ‘kin. With Gerald, ako yung mas matanda. Matteo, ganon din. So yeah, parang si Rambo yung pinaka matanda, tapos surrounded pa kami ng pamilya namin.”

Elisse Joson and McCoy De Leon

Sometimes, all you really need is some time apart. These two young actors announced their breakup in 2018 with tearful goodbyes. Two years later, they found themselves again as better people for going through the ordeal.

“We all have made mistakes and we learn from it. It’s like you’re becoming a better person,” McCoy shared in June of 2021.

“I didn’t expect that it would happen but I am very thankful for everything… I am very happy now. I can’t explain it in words.”

While Elisse was spending her time with family overseas, McCoy added that it’s all about the “communication, understanding, faith [and] the trust” that serves as keys to a healthier relationship between the pair.

Meryll Soriano and Joem Bascon

Meryll and Joem rang in 2021 not just with a comeback reveal, but with a baby announcement too!

“New year, new hopes, new positive outcomes. Happy New Year from our family to yours!” Meryll captioned along with a photo of the couple with a baby between them.

The pair first met and started a romance on the set of 2008’s Betty La Fea. They broke up shortly after but soon rekindled their romance as more matured individuals.

Joem had been dating vlogger Crisha Uy for eight years, and were engaged to be married before they broke it off in 2019.

Dennis Trillo and Jennyln Mercado
