A few hours before President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his third State of the
Nation Address (SONA) today at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City,
various congresswomen, legislator’s wives and guests showed up in modern ternos that
make us proud to be Filipino.

Heart has been turning heads lately, especially during her recent trip to the French
capital. Year after year, she has been appearing at the SONA in all-white Filipiñanas
and this year was no different.
One of two looks was a white deep-V dress by Mark Bumgarner accessorized with the
LGBTQI+ flag, an idea of her husband Senator Chiz Escudero. Heart’s take on the
Filipiñana this year shows how liberalism and the traditional Filipino culture can be a
perfect match.

Just like how the boxing champ made a powerful comeback to the ring last week, his
wife Jinkee Pacquiao also arrived in a knock-out number at SONA 2018 being
fashionable as ever wearing an all-white pantsuit by Michael Leyva.

Congresswoman Len Alonte elegantly appeared at this year’s SONA wearing a light
pink terno complemented by a draped fabric that added more depth to the look made by
Michael Leyva.

Kate Necesario, Baste Duterte’s long-time girlfriend, on the other hand started catching

pattern.
