In an avenue most fitting to gather all the notable personalities in this pride-worthy fashion event, the Nicanor Abelardo theater at the Cultural Center of the Philippines paid homage to the epitome of grace and technique, the Terno. Evidently, the modern Filipiniana has been making its way to the consciousness of the modern mindset as the worlds of art and design, fashion, society, and show business descended on the iconic steps of the CCP to witness how local luminaries and up-and-coming voices continue the conversation of Philippine fashion’s definitive dress code. On this anticipated night, as celebrated by Bench, we saw the iconic butterfly sleeves flit and flutter as recreated into tops and dresses fully embracing heritage.
Continuing to encourage every Filipino to incorporate the timeless classic in their wardrobe both in fashion and in spirit, the CCP and Bench have once again successfully brought history to life, which saw a gamut of celebrities and notable personalities gracing TernoCon 2020 in elegant and sophisticated iterations of the Terno, as well as of the Baro’t Saya, Maria Clara, Patadyong, and Barong Tagalog.
