After announcing his retirement, we look back on Law Roach’s iconic stylist moments with his muse, Zendaya
Right after her Disney era, Zendaya began making waves in the fashion industry with her stylish ensembles. It was definitely the right person at the right time for both Zendaya and Law after bumping into each other, which then led to the start of their fashion journey together. Becoming Zendaya’s fashion fairy godbrother, the duo had a fearless take on style that catapulted them into the light of the fashion industry.
After more than a decade of styling, Law was able to build an outstanding reputation from the ground up with his clients such as Hunter Schafer, Celine Dion, and Anya Taylor-Joy, apart from collaborating with various luxury brands. However, after a very full weekend of styling for the Oscars, Law announced last March 15 that he will retire from celebrity styling as he ventures further into his career.
As we look back on Law Roach’s impressive stylist moments, we’re putting the spotlight on the ensembles he pulled off for none other than Zendaya.
The Met
When it comes to the Met Gala, almost everyone is anticipating the appearance of Zendaya. She’s never one to shy away from an adventurous number, and Law Roach knows how to bring out the actress’ versatility when it comes to fashion. In 2017, Zendaya arrived in a rather large outfit with her ball gown that had animals and floral prints in yellow, blue, and red hues. She definitely embraced the billowed out vibe when she finished the look with her beautiful curls.
The following year, Law styled Zendaya with such noble regality. He definitely understood the assignment as she walked up the stairs of the Met as a modern Joan of Arc. She looked valiant with her chainmail dress decorated with an armored high neck-shoulder piece, studded belt, and the bob cut done in soft waves.
Award season
While the Met is all about the unexpected, awards season for Law Roach means elegance and sophistication. Just last year, the stylist gave Zendaya a look that screamed Old Hollywood glamour with an all black ball gown that had a sweetheart neckline on the corset and a dainty bow around the waist.
Back in 2020, Law gave Zendaya a Viva Magenta look customized by Tom Ford. She definitely made headlines for her sculpted front with an asymmetrical hem, while her back was left exposed.
Red carpet
Law Roach went for another sculpted look for Zendaya, but this time around, it’s a full on dress. She made her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival back in 2021 for Dune wearing a beige form-fitting number with drapings that resembled a wet fabric hugging her silhouette.
An eye for anything unique, Law was able to pull off this look for Zendaya with how the contrasting colors complemented her skin tone. The yellow and purple gave the actress a nice glow, while the silhouette and high slit accentuated her figure even more.
