Sneaker heads, rejoice! Sole Academy just launched the country’s first ever sneaker exhibit in partnership with Secret Fresh Gallery featuring notable sneaker enthusiast Big Boy Cheng‘s personal and widely-coveted collection with almost over 500 pairs of shoes at The Think Tank.
As the brainchild of the label and Secret Fresh Gallery, the exhibit is pretty hard to miss. Just look for the shoe box-shaped space in front of Sole Academy. So much for thinking outside the box, right?
Big Boy’s collection features the most expensive and elusive sneakers in the world, ranging from hype to bespoke. Today, we round up the rarest pairs that we spotted inside the Think Tank in no particular order.
1. SUPREME x LOUIS VUITTON
Average Price: $1,400
Remember the hype that surrounded the much-awaited collection from two of the most influential fashion houses and labels last year? The Supreme x Louis Vuitton was the collaboration that further blurred the lines between high fashion and street wear, with pieces worn by countless A-listers.
2. ADIDAS FUTURECRAFT 4D
Average Price: $300 – $500
Adidas is leading the pack in terms of technological developments with the Futurecraft, a 3D printed shoe with the material recycled from the ocean’s plastic waste. Currently, this shoe isn’t available in the Philippines yet.
3. REEBOK x VETEMENTS INSTAPUMPS
Average Price: $655 – $895
Known for its outlandish doodles all over Reennok’s classic instapump shoes, this Vetements sneaker collaboration was a hit or miss amongst street style stars, sneaker heads, and influencers alike.
4. N.E.R.D x HUMAN RACE NMD
Average Price: $7,000
As part of the hiphop group’s comeback since their last album release in 2010, N.E.R.D. collaborated with NMD for a sleek take on the infamous shoe, marking their return with the words “YOU NERD” on the upper. The only chance to cop the shoe was at Complex Con in Long Beach California last year where the group performed for the first time after almost 7 years.
5. CARHARTT X EMINEM AIR JORDAN 4
Average Price: $23,750
The Air Jordan 4 just added another star to their long list of holy grail collaborations this time with Carhartt and Eminem and features the rapper’s initial ‘E’ on each heel. Only 10 pairs were created for this special project, with all the proceeds donated to Michigan State University’s ‘Literacy Through Song Writing’ program.

6. CHANEL x PHARRELL x NMD
Average Price: $10,235
The sneakers were first unveiled in Chanel’s temporary pop-up store in the now defunct Colette shop in Paris. Since then, the pair’s reselling price has gone off the roof, doubling its original price.
7. AIR YEEZY 2 RED OCTOBER
Average Price: $8,500
Kanye’s no stranger in making headlines, but what shocked the sneaker community was when his Red Octobers were auctioned for almost $16 million back in 2014 and was sold within 11 minutes.
8. OFF-WHITE x NIKE AIR JORDAN 1
Average Price: $2,690
Easily one of the best sneakers at the moment, the fashion world was shaken to its core when Off-White founder Virgil Abloh dissected and deconstructed a pair of Air Jordan 1s, now easily recognizable because of its misplaced swoosh, “AIR” on the sole, and bright hang tags.
9. BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB x NMD
Average Price: $2,375
Like the rest of Pharrell’s Human Race designs, this model features a Primeknit upper with bold text reading “terre” (earth) and “cuerpo” (body). It’s also been rumored that this NMD is the hardest to cop among Pharrell’s collaborations with the brand.
10. NIKE AIR MAGS “BACK TO THE FUTURE”
Average Price: $40,800
One fun fact to share is Big Boy Cheng has 2 of these iconic sneakers inside the exhibit. And yes, if you’re still wondering, they automatically lace up whenever the shoe is too loose. It’s 2018, how come we’re still not flying around in jet packs?
