The Cartier Clash [Un]limited Watch is the Latest Definition of Punk-Glam Style

Actually, references seen in the Clash [Un]limited date all the way back to the 1930s through the influence of the Maison’s then artistic director of fine jewelry Jeanne Toussaint. Contrasts in the preciousness and industrial aesthetic of ball bearings are seen in the beads that roll over each other to the hinges of the bracelet, all articulated to create softness on the skin. Similarly, contrasting geometric motifs are emphasized not only through the inclusion of round and square elements, but also through alternating brushed and satin-finish gold. Finally, a clash of colors are also at play, combining yellow or rose gold with violet gold, a new shade of gold in tones of shimmering violet, entirely developed for Cartier. It punctuates the watch, from the clou carré to the beads on the bracelet.
