A troupe of freaks and oddities descended upon CIRQUE: Shake, Rattle, and Ball 2024
Year after year, our favorite fashion stars conjure over-the-top ensembles for their own parties—or, if they’re lucky enough to get an invite, for Tim Yap’s famous annual Halloween bash. This year, we saw some dynamic, elaborate, and varied spectacles from celebrities last night. Here are the freaks, legends, and icons they referenced for their looks at CIRQUE.

Donny Pangilinan as Frankenstein
A turn in Frankenstein’s shoes made heartthrob Donny Pangilinan disappear completely—with the help of green makeup topped off with stitches. He is, after all, a creature of the dead.
Hannah Pangilinan as Anne Wheeler
His sister, meanwhile, turned to the musical that celebrated the rebels and outcasts: The Greatest Showman. Asaerialist Anne Wheeler, Hannah was decked out in a purple bodysuit with crystals dotting the bodice and a cotton candy-pink wig. She was as much as a vision in circus garb on the ground as she would be on the trapeze.
Hayden Kho as PT Barnum
Speaking of The Greatest Showman, no circus is complete without the showman or the ringmaster. Hayden Kho stepped into the shoes of Hugh Jackman’s iconic character with his signature red jacket.
Jayda as Jessa Zaragoza
Jayda’s ultimate black carpet reference? Her singer-model mom, Jessa Zaragoza. Jayda recreated Jessa’s yellow bombshell moment in her Best Of album compilation cover, released in 1999. When set free in Jessa’s closet, her daughter had a wealth of references to pull from.
Vina Morales as Satine
The enchantment of Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 film Moulin Rouge! was in part, thanks to the vibrant, dazzling, and show-stopping costuming. Step into the Parisian nightlife with Vina Morales’s iteration of Satine—courtesan, cabaret singer, and cancan dancer. Vina embodied Moulin Rogue’s “sparkling diamond,” whipping up an ensemble that screamed allure and opulence.
Therese Malvar as the Spooky Fortune-Teller
Therese Malvar wrapped herself up in spooky mystery with this fortune teller ensemble. If the eyes, the headpiece, the jewelry, and the crystal ball weren’t enough, the actress also brought with her a table, ready to invite customers for a consultation about their fates. For CIRQUE, Therese transformed herself into a terrifying, all-knowing creature.
Ella Cristofani as Taylor Swift and Vanessa Peña as Olivia Rodrigo
Sparkle artists Ella Cristofani and Vanessa Peña graced the black carpet as two of the biggest pop stars in the world, Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo—quashing any rumored beef. These stars sparked a very niche and particular fashion movement with their respective tours; Ella sported the famous crystal-adorned Lover bodysuit in blue and pink with Taylor’s signature red lip, while Vanessa took sartorial notes from Olivia’s GUTS show in Texas—purple dress with sparkles, tights, and cowgirl hat.
Evan Tan as the Mad Hatter
Get sucked in the world of Alice of Wonderland with Evan Tan. He seemed to model his Mad Hatter look on Tim Burton’s 2010 film adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s novel, donning curly orange wig and a tall top hat. He painted his face white and wore a tuxedo jacket over different patterned layers and a purple scarf.
Tim Yap as Kokey
We always look forward to host Tim Yap’s annual spectacles for his own Halloween bash. This year, he transformed into the extraterrestrial who had a penchant for befriending human beings, Kokey, from the 1997 science fiction film. Nothing says iconic—and quite frankly, freak—quite like the Filipino version of ET.
Vicki Belo as Wonder Woman
Dr. Vicki Belo was in full armor as Gal Gadot’s character from Wonder Woman 1984, showing that superheroes are for all ages. Strong, fierce, and golden, Dr. Vicki Belo was definitely a wonder woman at CIRQUE.
Francine Garcia as Heart Evangelista
“Bakit pa tayo lalayo sa Philippines’ Global Fashion Icon?” the actress said in her Instagram post. Francine indeed paid homage to global fashion icon Heart Evangelista by recreating her Elian Saab vow renewal look. She even nailed Albert Kurniawan’s dewy and Igari look on Heart.
