Merz Aesthetics® and Vanguard Aesthetics celebrated their beauty partners’ milestones of achievements on a beautiful night filled with blooming flowers
In the tapestry of life, milestones are the vibrant threads that weave our unique stories together. These significant markers hold immense value, allowing us to reflect, appreciate, and celebrate our journeys. However, they are more than mere numbers of wins; it’s a symbol of growth and endurance.
Hosted by Merz Aesthetics® with Vanguard Aesthetics, the pioneer behind Ultherapy®, the recently held Tala Awards last October 5 at Shangri La at the Fort, Manila, had an evening of celebrations and recognitions. This momentous event is an annual celebration of recognizing the outstanding performance of their partner dermatologists, aestheticians, and beauty and wellness clinics.
The time to bloom
Inspired by the flourishing beauty of flowers with the theme: “Confidence to Bloom”, this year’s rendition of the event was the biggest one to date. Exquisitely held in one the five-star hotels, the grand ballroom became an idyllic garden fit for the influential beauty experts.
The guests, dressed in their iterations of Filipiniana floral attire, stepped into the bridgeway adorned with a trellis of blooms. In the hallway, they enjoyed some delightful treats, cocktails, a photo flora booth, and a 360 selfie camera to welcome them to a lovely evening.
Host Issa Litton welcomed the esteemed guests to a delightful evening, where a mesmerizing flower performance captivated the eyes of many, followed by an introduction to Merz Asia Pacific Regional Associate Vice President, Regional Commercial, Raymond Ong.
At last year’s Tala Awards, it was all about stepping back into the light—rising above the pandemic’s uncertainty. Ong shared, “In the past year, one certainty stands out: constant change.”
With change comes the growing acceptance of non-invasive procedures. When patients embrace self-love, they become more receptive to innovative technologies and ideas.
“Standing here today, we celebrate the milestones we have all achieved together in the past year. We have indeed grown and blossomed into confidence champions for our patients to look better, feel better, and live better,” said Merz Asia Pacific Regional Associate Vice President, Regional Commercial, Raymond Ong.
The power of authenticity
The sumptuous dinner was served, and the evening continued with the certification of over 100 Ultherapy®clinics nationwide. Ultherapy®, the non-invasive skin lifting and tightening procedure, leads Merz Aesthetics‘ eminent portfolio. Issa Litton then invited Ultherapy® ambassador Ellen Adarna onstage to share her campaign, “No Bad Takes,” and her journey on self-care, empowerment, and authenticity.
“The campaign embodies my journey, not just with beauty and aesthetics, but with celebrating me. It’s my goal to share this kind of confidence and empowerment with everyone,” the actress shared. “The ‘No Bad Takes’ campaign is about achieving your best self without the need to change yourself [or undergo] invasive treatments.”
Adarna further discussed the value of Ultherapy®‘s authenticity. While many similar machines claim the same level of efficacy, there is a reason why it solely remains the gold standard* in non-invasive skin lifting and tightening.

Stars of the night
Merz Aesthetics® and Vanguard Aesthetics awarded many of their partner beauty clinics and doctors with a long list of accolades to give honorees their well-earned stars. But the one that shone the brightest was The Aivee Clinic, which took home the highest and most prestigious Overall 7-Star award.
Presented by Merz Asia Pacific Regional Associate Vice President, Regional Commercial, Raymond Ong, and Vanguard Aesthetics Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Ng, this most coveted and notable title is given to a commercial leader in the Philippines that empowered countless others in their confidence to bloom journeys.
“May you always inspire Filipinos to be the grandest, fullest, and most beautiful version of themselves,” Vanguard Aesthetics’ Chief Executive Officer Ryan Ng said.
With their outstanding performance and global recognition, The Aivee Clinic took home a total of six awards for the night. Aside from the Overall 7-Star Award, Dr. Aivee and Dr. Z Teo also won the 7-Star Ultherapy® Transducer Award, 7-Star Merz Pure Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Award, 7-Star Merz Easy Adapt Hyaluronic Acid Filler Award, 5-Star for Ultherapy® Control Unit Award and a 3-Star Merz Regenerative Biostimulator Award.

Furthermore, The Aivee Clinic continues earning prestigious accolades in the Philippines and Asia Pacific. Last October 24, at the 8th Golden Record Awards by Merz Aesthetics® Asia Pacific, held at the Capella Hotel in Bangkok, the clinic won the most coveted award: the Accelerated Growth Award for Ultherapy® Transducers, Category B. Dr. Z Teo and Dr. Aivee Teo were grateful for this massive recognition as they hope to bring more of their innovations and expert approaches to the Philippine medical aesthetics industry.
Back at the Tala Awards, the other big category winners for the night were Luminisce Holistic Skin Innovations and HOO Dermatology, who both accepted the Overall 3-Star Award.

Aside from the Overall 3-Star Award, Dr. Kaycee Reyes also received the 7-Star Merz Easy Adapt Hyaluronic Acid Filler Award, 5-Star Merz Pure Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Award, 3-Star Merz Regenerative Biostimulator Award, and 3-Star Ultherapy® Transducer Award.
Meanwhile, House of Obagi (HOO) won four awards: the Overall 3-Star Award, 5-Star Merz Pure Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Award, 3-Star Ultherapy® Transducer Award, and 3-Star Ultherapy® Control Unit Award.
The Merz Aesthetics® Tala Awards 2023 was one for the books—an inspiring gathering celebrating successes, growth, and partnerships by going above and beyond to help Filipinos look better, feel better, and live better for a brighter future.
