The 90s were a vibe. There was so much going on during that time, which made fashion and culture all the more exciting. You have designers, Alexander McQueen and Tom Ford, resurrecting fashion houses. The Mickey Mouse Club training the rising stars of the decade. And, to top it all off, humankind was entering a new millennium. Thus, everyone was gearing up to innovate, create, and express–– much like how it is now after the pandemic.

In the year 2022, we’re seeing a resurgence of some of our favorite 90s trends. After two years of quarantine, everyone is feeling more inspired to express their creative side just as it was 20 years ago. The energy nowadays is reminiscent of the artistic atmosphere of the 90s, which makes it a reason to bring back all our favorite trends. Whether it be the fashion or the culture of the 90s, we’re so excited to be reliving our childhood memories as young adults of the 21st century.

Party Culture
You know what we’re talking about! Teen parties were glamorized during the 90s through our favorite romantic comedies. Even if it was just a house party, teens in the movies would show up in a feathery ensemble ala Alicia Silverstone’s Cher of Clueless. You can even hold a Heineken during your nights out to complete the cool party girl image of the 1990s.

Low Waisted Bottoms
One fashion trend that is definitely back with vengeance are low waisted bottoms. We never thought we’d see the day when these would become trendy again. Leave it to Levi’s and the rest of 2022 Fashion Week to bring this very 90s fashion trend back on the map. You can even go all the way and wear a low waisted denim mini skirt for the full 90s vibe. You can do this by reworking your Jeans at a nearby Levi’s shop.

Fashion Phones
Remember when phones would complete an outfit back in the day? We’d bedazzle our flip phones and envy over TV star’s clamshell phones, a.k.a. slider phones. This time around we’ve moved on to smartphones. Although, that doesn’t mean you can’t treat your phone as an accessory, as you once did. Try out the new realme 9 series, which features the realme 9i, 9, 9 Pro and the 9 Pro+. They’re fashion phones for the stylish 90s baby.

Shining Shimmering Splendid
Notice how gloss and shine are what we aim for now in our makeup looks? That’s because the shimmer eyeshadows and packed highlighters of the 90s are making a combat. For the ultimate throwback, visit your local Watsons and get some over the counter beauty products. It’s also essential to stock up on skincare from Y.O.U. Beauty, so you’ll have an easier time applying your shimmers.
