“Bond, James Bond.” We’ve all heard that famous line before, but this time around, these lucky auction winners can emulate the British spy with his actual watches from OMEGA
Movie memorabilia in the form of signed posters and props, or even costumes that include accessories like jewelry and watches worn in films are always favored by collectors from a multitude of fandoms. So when it was announced that EON Productions and Christie’s were holding an official two-part sale titled “Sixty Years of James Bond,” wherein proceeds will be donated to nominated charitable causes like TIME’S UP UK and Orbis, word spread like wildfire.
In the live auction, items such as watches, vehicles, and other props and costumes were just some of the keepsakes up for bidding—many of which were related to No Time To Die, the 25th spy film under the James Bond movie franchise.
Included in the long list of collectibles were two OMEGA timepieces that were worn by 007 himself, Daniel Craig, in his latest Bond movie. The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition was sold for a staggering price of GBP 226,800, which is around PHP 15M. This watch presents a stylish military-inspired OMEGA in titanium, as well as an innovative mesh bracelet.
The second watch sold was the Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial. With its stainless steel bracelet and metallic blue dial, it comes to no surprise that this classic OMEGA timepiece was auctioned for an impressive GBP 119,700 or about PHP 8M.
The successful bidders of both watches will be receiving their OMEGAs inside a custom box and with a certificate signed by James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann, and actor Daniel Craig.
If you want to check it out for yourself, an online auction will last until James Bond Day on October 5, 2022, and it will be presenting a total of 35 pieces spanning 25 films.
