Looking for a Chinese, Korean, Japanese, American, or Italian restaurant is now as easy as hitting up a local jaunt. We have to admit that dishes like hot wonton, mouth-watering samgyupsal, savory ramen, beefy burger, and creamy pasta can instantly satiate our endless cravings. Aside from the fact that these dishes are undeniably irresistible, we think that these are the only ones available in town. But if you really go out and search for the good stuff, you will find a whole new world of culinary delights that are atypical and worth digging in to. With a map of gastronomic Hot spot all over the metro, which includes those that we may not necessarily be familiar with, you can just stay here for the mean time, skip the long haul flights, and explore cuisines other than your usual go-to’s.

Get a kick of Indonesian cuisine’s strong and vibrant flavors at these restaurants just around Makati. While these authentic Indonesian restaurants are slowly getting famed through the good word of mouth, the richly spiced dishes such as Satay, Beef Rendang, and Nasi Rawon from Warung Indo and Restoran Garuda, will leave you wanting more.

Warung Indo is located at G/F, LPL Manor, Salcedo Village, Makati City. Restoran Garuda is located at G/F, Beneficial Life Bldg., Legaspi Village, Makati City.

Nepalese

For authentic Nepalese dishes, we are required to take a long drive or a quick domestic flight, which isn’t so bad if you’re game to explore the storied streets of Iloilo city and chilly sweater-weather of Baguio. After all, this doesn’t compare to a 9-12 hour flight to Nepal. Once you’ve made the trip, prepare to dig in with what the country offer such as Pulao, Dal Bhat, and Thukpa, and realize why we might need a spot like this in the city.

Masu Cafe is located at Villa Anita, Jalandoni Street, Iloilo City. Half & Half is located at 15 Ruperto Bldg., Outlook Drive, Baguio City.

Moroccan

They say Moroccan cuisine is one of the most important in the world, and if this is the case, we now want to taste dishes that have a touch of diverse influences without actually going to North Africa. With flavorful spices present in every plate, taste a hint of their culture as you indulge in any Moroccan dish like the famed Couscous, Tagine, and Tangia.

Café Casablanca is located at 5/F, Rustan’s, Glorietta Complex, Makati City. The Moroccan Lady’s Authentic Tagines is located at Galeria de Magallanes, Lapu-lapu Avenue, Magallanes.

Polish

If you’re in need of a fill of warming, hearty food, Polish cuisine can take the lead in bringing you instant comfort. From their famous large dumplings to Polish doughnuts, devouring their traditional fare is not poles apart from what Filipinos taste on a daily basis.

Babci Kuchnia is serving cooked items at the Saturday Salcedo Market and Sunday Legazpi Market.

Peruvian

When Peruvian cuisine entered the Filipino dining scene,  it was one of the fastest growing cuisine that instantly whisks you away to that corner of the world. The presence of potatoes and corn, which Filipinos greatly love, has given Peruvian a warm welcome in the country.

Cocina Peruvia has branches at 2/L Ayala Malls Vertis North, Quezon City and 5/F The Podium, Mandaluyong City.

Hawaiian

Not a fan of pineapples? Don’t fret because Hawaiian dining is definitely not just about pineapples. Fused with Japanese sensibilities, most Hawaiian dishes are similar to the Asian dining scene. Traditional Hawaiian food incorporates healthy roots like taro in some of their dishes.

Ono Poké has branches at Highway Hills, Greenbelt 1, The Pantree, and Food District Signatures on 5th.

African

There’s a distinct strength and amount of robustness of flavors, especially for food from this part of the world. Don’t get intimidated with their meaty plates that often combines fish, beef, and chicken. By the way it sounds, that’s a blend of flavors and protein we really, really need to try.

Ziggurat is located at G/F, Sunette Tower, Poblacion, Makati City.
