YG Entertainment finally gave us what we want: More Blackpink! On January 31, 2020, Blackpink gave us back-to-back performances on the The Show, a live tele-concert of the four idols. We got everything we wanted: Lovesick Girls, Sour Candy, How You Like That, and so much more. Plus, the girls gave their best solo performances. Jenny took the stage with Solo, Lisa gave us originally made choreography, Jisoo gave a goddess performance of Stay High, and Rosé debuted her solo. This. Is. A. Big. Deal. If you’ve been a Blink for quite some time now, you would know how much Rosé has worked hard on creating her own music. Now that the time has come we can’t be prouder.

Let’s take a look in to Rosé’s solo debut track titled, Gone. Here’s why Park Chae-young deserves all the recognition for her new song.

We saw her struggle with debuting a solo song in the Blackpink documentary by Netflix, Light Up The Sky.
We knew the Rosé’s debut was coming because we saw her practicing in a studio during Light Up The Sky. We saw how she struggled putting her emotions into a song. Aside from this, Park Chae-young shared how much she respected music too much, which gave her additional pressure.

Rosé is the main vocalist of the group.
If you’ve noticed in most of Blackpink’s songs, Rosé would always take the high notes and the pre-chorus. This is because she is officially the main vocalist in the group. Technically, she can reach the highest notes and is trained to be the best in singing. Many would even argue that she should have debuted a solo track earlier.

She is known to be the most musically inclined in the group.
Blackpink’s members all agree that Rosé is a singing machine. Blinks can also verify this by watching their numerous reality shows. Rosé is always practicing and jamming on her guitar. We also learned in Light Up The Sky that she is always the last to leave the studio for practice.

We want to see Rosé’s guitar skills be used to its maximum potential.
Park Chae-young is a master at the guitar. If you’ve seen her audition video, then you’d know she tried out for Blackpink with her trusty acoustic guitar. Apart from this, Blinks will know that the group’s connection was formed when all four girls jammed to Rosé’s guitar during their trainee days.

Rosé has always wanted to perform an original song solo.
Despite having some struggle in Light Up The Sky in terms of songwriting, Park Chae-young has always wanted to perform an original song on her own. More than showcasing her talent, she wants to be able to express a different side to herself to her fans. Now that Gone is officially out, we can’t wait to see more of Rosé’s compositions.
