Three young Filipinas are ready to debut in a K-Pop girl group after securing their spots in the SBS survival show, Universe Ticket
In the K-Pop world, fans would often group the members, and use descriptions to place them in a line or unit. Three members for vocals? We’ll call them the vocal unit. What if they get tired easily? Let’s label them the iron deficiency line. They can be the most literal or most unserious names, but it’s a system that helps fans navigate their way through a group. That being said, a new girl group has been formed and there’s a line that’s dedicated to our nationality. Because of their ranking in the SBS survival show, Universe Ticket, these three Filipinas are set to join the upcoming K-Pop girl group named UNIS.

Elisia Parmisano
Despite her young age, the 14-year old was able to showcase her impressive vocals, and on-point expressions in every performance. Elisia’s UNIS announcement was made official before the final episode, which made her the first member of the girl group. Because of that, the trainee made history because she’s the first Filipina to ever land first place on a Korean survival show.
Gehlee Dangca
The 16-year old made a lot of noise on TikTok because of her striking features, and charming personality. Apart from her demure aura, she surprised the panel with her first performance that showed off her strong vocals, and her local-like diction of their language. As for her background, Gehlee is no stranger to competitions since she participated in several pageants in both local and international grounds.
One more thing to take note of is that she’s the trainee that garnered the highest points based on the live voting and the previous points she had. It’s very apparent how Gehlee is used to competitive scenes since she was able to improve during the show, making her the fourth member of UNIS.
Jin Hyeon-Ju
Meanwhile, half-Filipina and half-Korean Jin Hyeon-Ju was born and raised in South Korea, her mother being the one to carry the Filipino DNA. The 22-year old trainee debuted in two girl groups prior to her joining UNIS, where she was the maknae in GOOD DAY in 2017, and she was positioned as the lead vocalist in Cignatuure in 2020.
However, Hyeon-Ju wasn’t able to join Cignature’s comeback in 2023 due to her participation in Universe Ticket. At the final episode of the survival show, the vocalist ranked sixth place which secured her spot in the group—officially making her the oldest member in UNIS.
