It’s been more than a week since Typhoon Ulysses struck the Philippines. In the midst of the storm, our fellow countrymen have remained steadfast and hopeful throughout the evacuations and rehabilitation of victims. No man was left behind in the nation’s mission to help each other after every storm. This was done through the many initiatives launched by corporations, organizations, and even individuals who simply wanted to help out around their area. During times of great devastation, there is one trait that makes us truly proud to be Pinoy: Bayanihan.
Time and time again, our faith in the future of the country is restored because of the empathetic hearts of its people. In particular, we were amazed at the generosity showed by the donors of the One Mega Relief Ops. As of November 24, 2020, the initiative has raised Php 116,611.4 for the benefit of Typhoon Ulysses victims. Aside from the monetary donations, One Mega Relief Ops was able to receive tremendous support from digital natives and local influencers. Each and everyone’s unending support made it the success it is today.
After raising a hefty amount for the initiative, One Mega Relief Ops immediately turned over 500 relief packs to the Rescue Emergency Disaster Center of Pasig City for 500 families through Mayor Vico Sotto. In a small village clubhouse, employees of One Mega Group participated in sorting and packing the relief goods that were distributed to affected areas. The relief packs contained rice, water, canned goods, snacks, and more.
As the Philippines recovers from the storm and continues to battle the ongoing pandemic, it is important to think of one another in times of adversity. We get through difficulties in life with the people who truly care, because one can not brave the storm of life alone.
