Achieve the perfect smokey eye with Pat McGrath’s expert tips and Max Factor’s new Smokey Eye Drama Kits. From bold looks to lighter, luminous variations, discover how to master this classic style.

Known to be one of the most classic makeup looks of all time, a smokey eye is more versatile than you think, as it can be worn at a formal event to a date.
While many women know this look to be flattering, a lot of them are also nervous to pull it off. Did you just realize that you were one of them? Not to worry—Max Factor is making the smokey eye more achievable than ever with six new Smokey Eye Drama Kits (P695).

From earthy tones to neutral grays to shimmery gold shadows, each palette has a personality of its own. They contain buildable color pigments that are enriched with skin conditioners for smoother application. In addition to this, the brand’s new shadow formula also allows for a higher concentration of pearls, resulting in that glamorous shimmer you’ve always wanted!

For a touch of rock and roll, Max Factor Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath likes to smudge a kohl eye pencil around the eyes before setting it with a deep eye shadow such as the Smokey Eye Drama Kit in Lavish Onyx. “Blend [the pencil] with fingers to form the shape then follow-up with eye shadow to add richness and depth. This type of smokey look,” she shares.

If that look is a little too dark for you, you can use textures to create a lighter, more luminous look. Opt for the metallic shades seen on the kits, giving the smokey eye a contemporary twist. “When you use metallics, or glitter on the eyes, it enhances highlights and creates depth. Focusing these products on places like the inner eye corners and centers of the lids brings youthful light and dimension to the structure of the eyes,” McGrath says.
