Visiting Bangkok Soon? Cop the Looks From Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2024 Collection

The buzzing Thai capital sets the stage for Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. With pieces bearing the handcrafts of couture—light-as-air leather blousons, cloud-like layers of mousseline skirts, and breezy silk blouses—jet-set style never felt oh so enigmatic, oh so easy

This fashion feature is from MEGA’s May 2024

When French elegance meets the dynamic Asian scene, fashion falls in love with the flair and thrill of travel and adventure.

In this special editorial set in Bangkok, Nicolas Ghesquière brings the finer details and modern accents of Parisian glamor in Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2024. In addition to reimagined accessories and bags, easy sophistication comes to life in daily couture.

The creative director has a long-time romance with the art of travel himself, which is why movement and fluidity are at the heart of this enigmatic collection. How else would one navigate bustling streets and discover unfamiliar corners with a sense of style and ease?

Ghesquière’s play on proportions give the spring wardrobe a fresh set of drama—the beauty in being done and undone. The color-blocked gathered leather jacket plays on texture and tone. Its sleek cuffs and striped outer arms make a chic, graphic look.

Another runway favorite: the fluid tiered skirt. The delicate, rolled hem and dual tiers of airy, silk mousseline exude the kind of soft, romantic charm done in true French spirit. Even the off-shoulder corset top made by Louis Vuitton’s bespoke Atelier Rare et Exceptionnel is a vibrant display against sights around the world.

A more casual and contemporary, even sporty, appeal is brought by the collar pullover. Paired with the color-blocked button tab pleat skirt, with an A-line silhouette accentuated by the asymmetrical tabs, the pullover creates an overall striking contrast that’s truly flattering and put together.

Ghesquière’s tasteful touch in Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2024 also materialized through its signature accessories and bags, including the Around Me PM, LV Knot pump, and LV Knot ankle boot.

At the end of it all, Ghesquière wants to trace Louis Vuitton’s luxurious name back to one of its main functions: to travel better.
