Another unexpected power move for the man himself was getting into womenswear with his Spring/Summer 2018 Collection and his collaboration with luxury brand Jimmy Choo. Abloh debuted the 9 shoe silhouettes in his Paris runway show, revolving around his chosen muse, Princess Diana, twenty years after her passing. The modern princess’ ‘glass slipper’ gets reworked into a new style, wrapped in unexpected softly ruched PVC, adorned in jewels, and huge bows.
“To collaborate with a brand like Off-White™ allows Jimmy Choo to explore a new avenue and take part in a different conversation,” says Sandra Choi. The femininity and regality of each piece gives the wearer an understated elegance. See some of the pieces of the collection in action below.
“Creative dreams were fulfilled when able to combine the young exuberance of Off-White™ and the storied elegance of Jimmy Choo, ” says Virgil.
In the Philippines, Jimmy Choo is located at Shangri-la Plaza East Wing and Rustan’s Makati. Follow @ssilifeph on Instagram for more information.
