Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s My Love Will Make You Disappear is coming soon, and MEGA Entertainment already has a wild guess on its story

After their back-to-back teleserye projects with Linlang and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu are set to bring their chemistry to the big screen. Earlier on It’s Showtime, KimPau—as fondly coined by their supporters—confirmed that they will be starring in their first film together entitled My Love Will Make You Disappear. The announcement came after their sweet opening number as they sang a duet of TJ Monterde’s “Sariling Mundo.”

Their Debut Film

The film’s director, Chad Vidanes, joined the lead stars in confirmation of the good news. When asked about the movie’s premise, he said, “Sa ngayon, what we can share is how the magic of love can make things go wild and fun.” According to the director, Prime Cruz conceptualized the film, while Patrick John Valencia and Isabella Policarpio worked on the story. He also revealed that the film will be premiering this October.

While My Love Will Make You Disappear will be the classic yet refreshing romcom offer of Star Cinema, the key art, showing date, and title had us all intrigued. One thing’s for sure—the plot may just involve twists and turns, given the creative juices of the staff behind the likes of The Woman in 23B, Ngayon Kaya, Halik sa Hangin, Unbreakable, Kasal, and Love at First Stream

The Wild and Fun Guess

What if the October showing date is a hint that the film will involve spirits, ghosts, or memories? Will the actress or the actor be artist who will conjure the other, then make their character a real human being ala Ruby Sparks? With both Linlang and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim under the belt of the top billing stars—a taste of dark and light—this next project may just be a mix of both.

After KimPau’s My Love Will Make You Disappear, Star Cinema have two more motion pictures premiering after—Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards’ Hello, Love, Again on November 13, and Vice Ganda’s And the Breadwinner is… on December 25 as the official entry of the film production in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival.
