Dedicated to all introspective girls, here’s a guide on how you can balance your peace with the chaos of the outside world
In an environment surrounded by noise, you sometimes find yourself withdrawing and making a home in your own little bubble. You learned how to tune out the chaos as you sit comfortably within the space of your mind, but what if it’s time to step out again? To all introspective girls out there, here’s a little guide on how you can find balance between your world and everyone else’s.
Stuck in a daze
Being introspective can be synonymous to being withdrawn. Your mind becomes your very own safe space since you’ve established that level of comfort when it comes to self-contemplation and self-reflection.
But because there is comfort, there are moments where you find yourself drifting away, and it becomes unhealthy if you don’t snap out of that daze. Being in your mind too much can lead to endless thoughts that might not be good for you in the first place. Always know when to open the door of introspection and know when to close it.
Allow yourself to feel
Feeling is easier said than done. We may applaud ourselves for thinking of various possible scenarios in our head, but it can also be an act of avoidance. Granted, it’s not easy to embrace our true emotions and it takes time to accept that we are uncomfortable.
Welcome the wave of discomfort. Take some time to journal in a cafe or simply lay on your bed—slow down. To feel is one of the most difficult things to accept, but it’s these inevitable moments that have such beauty and reflection.
Let go of the apprehensions
It’s time to disassociate yourself from the numerous scenarios about different situations in your mind. Yes, there’s nothing wrong with over-preparing for what may or may not happen, but you’re not actually enjoying what’s in front of you if you’re always expecting the worst. Allow yourself to be in the present, not the unsure future.
Let life
It’s quite contradictory to be introspective only to just let life be life, but it’s the balance you need to live out intentionally. There’s a discipline when it comes to withdrawing from the world and to enter it again with level-headedness, and it takes a while to fully grasp it. Ultimately, it’s all about knowing when to enter your little bubble again and when to see life as it is.
