What to Expect from KathNiel’s Newest Project 2 Good 2 Be True

After Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla celebrated a decade of reel partnership in 2021 comes a new story that will surely tug the heartstrings of their fans and viewers this year.

Yes, it’s definitely true! KathNiel will be making a TV comeback with their newest teleserye 2 Good 2 Be True. Fans have been waiting for the pairing’s new series since their pandemic project The House Arrest of Us and here’s what we know so far about Kathniel‘s upcoming serye.

The show is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar.

KathNiel has worked with Cruz-Alviar in their past projects such as Crazy Beautiful You (2015) and Can’t Help Falling in Love (2017). Both are tearjerker romcoms, so we’re definitely in for a ride with this new one!

The full cast has been revealed.

Some cast members like Kristel Fulgar, Pamu Pamorada, Yves Flores, and Gelli de Belen have already worked with KathNiel in their past projects. According to the cast reveal last October, the roster of actors in this project also includes award winning stars Ronaldo Valdez, Gloria Diaz, and Irma Adlawan.

The theme song is written by couple Moira Dela Torre and Jason Fernandez.

Moira revealed in one of ABSCBN’s live streams that “Kumpas” was written by her and her husband, Jason, only through a synopsis sent by Cruz-Alviar to the couple. They then watched KathNiel’s KathNiel: Isang Dekada documentary and came up with the whole song.

The new roles are reminiscent of KathNiel‘s past characters.

In the teaser, Kathryn, as Alisson, sported a curly mane while Daniel, as Elorde, wore a black hoodie. Some fans quickly noticed how similar these looks are to their past characters Chichay and Joaquin from Got 2 Believe. Talk about déjà vu! Based on their look test, it also seems like there is more to Alison and Elorde than meets the eye.
