Of course, one of the first to get into the Shake, Rattle, and Ball spirit was Andrea Brillantes. In a post, the actor is unrecognizable as she transformed into an engkanto-manananggal hybrid. Other noteworthy entries include Alodia Gosiengfiao-Quimbo who moonlighted as an evil siren, and Tim Yap who paid homage to the legendary Lilia Cuntapay — spooked to know more? See the most jaw-dropping celebrity Shake, Rattle, and Ball transformations from this year, below.
Andrea Brillantes
Blythe is among the stars who do not shy from embracing her scary spirit—the exact reason why she rightfully deserves to co-chair Tim Yap’s Shake, Rattle, and Ball. Courtesy of SFX specialists Drian Pili Bautista, Tawong-Lipod Creative Studio, Pauline Olarte, and Rhum Tarog, the actor went all out with a look inspired by not just one, but two mythical spirits: engakanto and mananaggal. More so, it shows that she is bound to be the next Queen of Halloween.
Alodia Gosiengfiao
There were clever takes on spooky transformations, too. Alodia Gosiengfiao-Quimbo was one chic evil siren clad in a Mara Chua ensemble and a custom earpiece, and her beauty entry is just as equally memorable. Think waist-grazing raven hair complemented with a black lip moment. Her entry is beyond iconic. But her expertise in costumes comes as no surprise. Alodia Gosiengfiao-Quimbo is the Queen of Philippines Cosplay, after all.
Tim Yap
It’s quite impossible to talk about the event’s memorable guises without the man of the hour—Tim Yap. True to Shake, Rattle, and Ball spirit, the influential host paid homage to Lilia Cuntapay, who is best known as the Queen of Philippines Horror Movies. His show-stopping transformation detailed the icon’s signature black cloak and extremely long white tresses. As for his arm-candy? Tim opted for a tiyanak as his plus one for an additional scare factor.
