The great provider
Just like a number of stars in the industry, the actress initially entered the world of show business to help her family. “When I entered showbiz, I had no weapon in my pocket. All I [had was] my dream to provide for myself and especially for my family,” she wrote on her Instagram post. Because of her persistence and dedication to help her siblings, Kim was able to send them to school, and she continues to share her blessings to her whole family.
In a Magandang Buhay interview, she tearfully recalled their past experiences in making ends meet. “Hindi man ako nakatapos. At least kayo at mga pamangkin ko, okay na ‘yun,” Kim said to her siblings. She reiterated to her loved ones that loving them is not a form of pagtitiis.
The multimedia star
Over the course of her 17-year journey as an actress and performer, Kim has portrayed unforgettable roles in both film and television. Many fans grew with her and her first on-screen partner, Gerald Anderson. As Kimerald, they starred in a number of projects like First Day High, Paano Na Kaya, Sana Maulit Muli, and Tayong Dalawa. They also top billed the Philippine adaptation of the original Korean series, My Girl, in 2008. In 2017, the two reunited for Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.
Stepping away from her first love team, Kim tried various roles that helped hone her talent. Who could ever forget her male transformation as Yuan in the romcom show, My Binondo Girl? This project also birthed a new pairing called KimXi with her now-boyfriend Xian Lim. The two starred in a couple of projects together, the latest being last year’s Always.
Aside from her expertise on drama, the FAMAS awardee has dabbled into the genres of horror, romantic comedy, and historical romance with The Ghost Bride, Bride For Rent, and Ikaw Lamang respectively. She also joined the roster of big stars including Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado, Claudine Barretto, and Kris Aquino for the film Etiquette For Mistresses.
Aside from her passion for acting, Kim is also known for her trending performances on the ASAP stage as a dancer. For her birthday celebration this year, she prepared a back-to-back dance performance in the Sunday noontime show. She also showcased her new skill in pole dancing for a special birthday number on It’s Showtime.

As of today, the multitalented idol is also exploring her hosting skills, even bagging the award “Best Female TV Host” at the 35th PMPC Star Awards for Television.
The MEGA woman
Carrying the MEGA definition of a woman, Kim has graced the cover of the country’s best fashion magazine several times in print, for a digital spread, and for a special edition.
Last October, she caught up with MEGA and shared her thoughts on beauty that grows with age. “Taking care of myself just makes me feel more confident,” she mentioned in the interview. “If you don’t feel confident, ’yon din perception ng mga tao. It comes from within—the confidence and the beauty. You won’t look good outside if you don’t feel good inside.”
Kim asserts her positive energy in her different passions such as sports and traveling. She documents these highlights in her vlog where her fans get inspired to do the same.
As she continues to evolve and bloom into her own sense of womanhood, rest assured that her supporters will always cheer on the Chinita Princess who is also a queen in her own right.
