Diehard fans of both contenders were expecting the Universe crown for each of their delegates, but the surprise of the Miss Universe Philippines Organization was that both Pauline and Krishnah were meant for their own titles. While supporters do have their reasons for such, MEGA breaks down the reasons why Bohol and Baguio’s representatives are fit for each of their crowns.
The charm in dedication
Baguio’s 22-year old representative turned heads on the coronation night with her strut and style. Krishnah Gravidez has always wowed the fans in every part of her Miss Universe PH 2023 journey, but the pinnacle of her performance was during the evening gown showcase. The Miss Charm International Philippines 2024 donned a bejeweled Rian Fernandez ensemble that was strategically darkened on the sides to create a curvier waistline. Krishnah carried the gown with a charm so confident that her fierceness radiated through the stage.
But more than her stellar beauty and glamorous looks, the titleholder is fit for her role because she exemplifies a young woman who is building her self-worth with strength and confidence. At the age of 14, Gravidez started working in a fast food chain to provide for herself and her family. Her business-minded personality paved the way for her to be more resourceful and hardworking in all aspects of her life.
Because of this, she is fit as the country’s representative for Miss Charm International. With the title’s mission to foster traditional culture and balance it with modern ideas, Krishnah’s sensibilities will surely shine through in her preparation for the crown. After all, Baguio City is indeed home to both old and new stories of Filipinos.
The aspiration to inspire
Pauline Amelinckx who hails from the province of Bohol is no longer new to the world of pageantry. Trying her luck with the crown for the third time, she was redirected to a title that people did not see coming—the Miss Supranational. Known to be one of the biggest pageant competitions in the world, contestants of this said title never back down without a fight.
The journey of Pauline towards the crown was never an easy one. From handling naysayers to facing her own self-doubt, she has proven that determination pays off. Besides her beauty and experience that has led her to where is now, it is her clear vision for her advocacies that make her journey all the more meaningful. As a free diver, Pauline also fights for marine conservation. Marrying this with helping children to have enough resources during the pandemic, the Miss Supranational Philippines started her own campaign called Hope in the Box. Pauline was able to donate school supplies, face masks, powdered milk, and fruits to children in their province.
With a grit for pageantry that comes from a personal goal and extends to helping the community, Pauline Amelinckx will surely fight and give it her all as she competes for the Miss Supranational crown. As they say, experience is the best teacher.
