Why the Dyson Airstrait is the Best Hair Styling Tool in the Market

Utilizing airflow instead of metal plates, the Dyson Airstrait is a revolutionary straightener that guarantees a damage-free way to style your hair, even when wet.

When it comes to hair styling, a hair straightener has undoubtedly been a staple throughout the decades. Its popularity has only sustained as people desire silky, straight hair. As such, we have become too familiar with the sizzling sound made as hair is pressed between hot metal plates. Thus practically frying our hair. Of course, while the modern iteration of the hair straightener is a far cry from the heated metal combs used in the past, this direct contact with heat can still be incredibly damaging to the hair.

This is where the Dyson Airstait comes in. Instead of the typical metal plate, it uses powerful airflow to dry and straighten the hair. No more sizzling or frying your hair off your scalp, even when you use it on wet hair. This powerful tool effectively delivers on its promise of silky, smooth hair.

Dyson launches the Dyson Airstrait, a hair straightener that uses air flow instead of metal plates.

The Science Behind Hairstyling

Committed to accelerating innovation in the beauty industry, Dyson has invested in decades-worth of research on hair structures. They also tested how airflow and temperatures affect the hair.

According to them, hair is more elastic when it’s wet, allowing you to ‘reset’ its structure and shape it however you like with ease. Thus, styling wet hair with a powerful airflow uses less heat while resulting in naturally shiny and less frizzy hair. This simple but powerful idea became the blueprint for Dyson’s latest hairstyling tool, the Airstrait.

The Dyson Airstrait simultaneously dries and straightens hair.

How the Airstrait Works

Despite being small and lightweight, the Dyson Airstrait has a powerful motor that generates sufficient airflow to dry and straighten wet hair simultaneously. This simplifies your hair routine by combining the power of a hair dryer and a hair straightener. However, the main difference lies in the damage-free and long-lasting results it creates. As stated, a hair straightener can be incredibly damaging. Meanwhile, hair dried and straightened with a hair dryer is prone to unsetting itself. With the Airstrait, you can easily dry your hair and achieve silky straight hair that lasts long at the same time.

The Airstait’s shape helps minimize frizz.

Its shape further helps you achieve smooth hair with arms at a 45-degree angle, forming a v-shape where you could place your hair. It then blows air out of the device at a downward angle. Thus preventing frizz and lending to a sleek hair.

Meanwhile, it also features diverse wet and dry styling modes. For wet mode, you could choose between three heat settings, including 80°C, 110°C, and 140°C. Meanwhile, dry mode has a 120°C, 140°C, and a top up “boost” setting. Both modes have significantly lower temperatures than the average temperature of hair straighteners. You could also control the airflow speed of the tool.

Maintain your hair’s natural shine with the Dyson Airstrait.

If you’re still worried about heat damage, each Dyson product, including the Airstrait, features an intelligent heat control feature. The temperature of the airflow is measured and regulated to ensure it doesn’t exceed temperature requirements. Thus guaranteeing the prevention of heat damage and maintaining the hair’s natural shine.
