4 Under-the-Radar Shows On Netflix To Add To Your List

With the frequent rollout of new TV shows and provisions of whole seasons in one go, it’s easy to get lost into the craze of binge watching. Because of the tendency to finish an entire show in one weekend, we’re constantly on the lookout for new shows to watch and if you thought you’ve seen them all or none of the ones you’ve found appeal to you, we’ve got 4 recommendations so you can get ready for that weekend marathon.

Chewing Gum

Chewing Gum is a British sitcom starring comedic genius Michael Coel. Coel plays the innocent Tracey Gordon who has lived all her life confined to the strict rules of her Christian mother in the small commune of Tower Hamlets. The show is a hilarious adventure of a young woman exploring and being empowered by her sexuality. Best of all, Tracey is absolutely relatable and one that you’d root for the entire time.

Neo Yokio

Created by Vampire Weekend frontman, Ezra Koenig, Neo Yokio is an animé centered around the city of the same name, a modern-day counterpart of New York in an alternate universe where Magicians saved the city from ruin by demons in the 19th century. These Magicians gained a place in the upper echelons of society and became known as “Magistocrats”. If that peculiar description alone wasn’t enough to capture your attention, the show is also star-studded with Jaden Smith as the lead and Jude Law, Alexa Chung and Susan Sarandon as supporting characters, among others.

The Good Place

Due to an error, self-absorbed Eleanor Shellstrop (played by Kristen Bell) arrives at the Good Place after her death and what ensues is her trials of becoming a better person. This is probably one of those shows that you’d think isn’t anything special after reading its synopsis but The Good Place exhibits a smart, humorous visualization of the afterlife and great motion graphics while they’re at it (artsy girls, you would love this!). From the makers of hit sitcoms, The Office and Parks & Recreation, you’re sure to be getting the same kind of comedic humor with a darker twist.

Grace & Frankie

Starring silver screen legends Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, Grace & Frankie is a funny demonstration on life after 70. The duo become unlikely friends after finding out their husbands have been seeing each other behind their backs and are actually planning to get married. That’s all we can say because the next few happenings are certainly even more hilarious.
