Ever since the likes of Lily Collins and Cara Delevigne showed us that thick and fluffy eyebrows can fully frame your face,we never turned back. We said goodbye to the 90’s Drew Barrymore thin brow but unfortunately, some have to suffer the consequences. Left with sparse brows due to over-tweezing, here enters the beauty powers of Anastasia Soare, the celebrity brow groomer behind A-list structured caterpillars. Her brand that started as a small beauty salon at the center of Beverly Hills turned into a full makeup line that holds the legacy for creating the best brow products in the market.
A one-stop-shop for all your eyebrow needs and more, Anastasia says that she doesn’t only cater to one type of brow shape. You would think high-arch brows are the only way to go but Anastasia catered to brows all-around the world.
Sharp angled brows can give you that snatched look, but it can also age you with a harder expression. When it comes to achieving the natural youthful glow, different techniques are needed to be employed.
Below is the list of products and pro-techniques we learned from Anastasia Soare that we can use to create a youthful brow:
1. The Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio that’s used in art and architecture is also the basic foundation of creating the ideal eyebrow shape. Anastasia’s technique is about complimenting your brows to your bone structure. The rule of thumb is brows should begin directly above the middle of the nostrils and end where the corner of the nostril connects with the outer corner of the eye. Next is that the highest point of the arch should connect the middle of the tip of the nose with the middle of the iris.
2. Straight Vs. Arch
After getting the base down, the next step is to understand what each brow shape means. For brows with high-arcs and long tails, it enhances the sharpness of your eyes. It exposes your brow bone giving you a lifted look but a stronger expression.
Straight brows on the other hand can leave you with a soft and kinder expression as the brows contrast with the roundness of the eye shape. Highly popular in K-beauty, straight brows make your eyes bigger and rounder, leaving you with an innocent gaze.
3. Shade Match And Draw With Caution
Similar to all things makeup, finding your perfect shade is a make it or break it deal. Too dark brows can wash out the rest of your face while way lighter brows can make you look bald. Anastasia’s pro-tip in shade matching for microbladed and natural eyebrows is to go a shade lighter to diffuse the colors and avoid gray undertones.
Where you begin to shade can also define or soften your facial features. Anastasia says to keep a light hand and fill first underneath the brow for more of a natural effect. Additionally, only shape above the eyebrow when you have little space between the lid to the brow. Hold the brow pen sideways and blend immediately after to achieve feather-like strokes.
4. Set It All In
Setting it all in maybe one of the most vital steps. For Asian hair, it’s either we have straight, and slick eyebrow stands or thick and coarse brows. Both of which point down, making brow soap and even hairspray have a hard time keeping it up. For this reason, Anastasia Beverly Hills has formulated the Brow Freeze, an ultimate styling wax with extreme hold.
The Brow Freeze is your brow soap elevated with crystal-clear wax that leaves no sticky mess and doesn’t need any water to activate it. It also doesn’t melt which is why some brow soaps don’t last as long in our humid weather. Perfect for the young and natural feathered-looking brows, it’s a mess-free way to achieve full brows that keeps the shape and color in place.
Claudia Soarse, shares that her personal trick is that she uses the Brow Freeze first to brush them and reveal the sparse areas before going in with a brow product.
5. Go Full Glow With The Final Touches
The key to looking younger beyond your years is all about that natural glow. Now that you have your youthful eyebrows set, let your skin shine through by mixing oil into a light foundation for a hydrated finish. For that added shine, lightly dust on highlighters that show up like second skin. ABH’s Iced Out Highlighter is a good example with its hybrid baked gel formula that suits every skin tone. A powder to cream finish, it melts into the skin, leaving an iridescent wet effect shine on the skin.
For the lips, go for your ‘MLBB’ shade but a personal favorite is to leave the lips bare and go for a high-shine gloss. Part of their spring collection ABH’s Honey Diamond Gloss is a must-have for lip-gloss enthusiast. Make your lip color the backdrop for the diamond-like reflection that this gloss gives with the gold flecks mixed into its ultra-smooth formula. If you want more of a wet glass-like finish their Crystal Gloss is a basic go-to gloss that makes for a great lipstick topper as well.
