It’s barbiecore season! Get to know how these influential stars are embracing the aesthetic through makeup

The third quarter of the year officially indicates that it’s Barbie and Oppenheimer season. It’s no secret that the past few months have witnessed a style shift in favor of looking pretty in pink. But who can blame us? There is no other perfect time than now to live the doll-life fantasy. Take the lead from Margot Robbie. The actor has been papped in her signature blonde bombshell hair and monochromatic soft pastel tone makeup look.

The quintessential barbiecore aesthetic is undeniably everywhere. Countless personalities like Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj, Anne Hathaway, and Zendaya have showcased their take on the aesthetic. However, these recent entries have been fronting the beauty headlines. Enter: Belle Mariano and Catriona Gray.

Think more of barbiecore beauty as the antithesis of the soft goth glam. The main message? Embrace the playfulness of the pink hue. But fret not. The spectrum offers a wide range of shades to complement any subtle to subversive preferences. Pro tip: Shimmered eyeshadows are a perfect choice for fans who are not keen on bold colors. Elsewhere, bubblegum-colored graphic eyeliners are a great detail to add for a more editorial look.

The Modern Barbie

Belle Mariano recently swapped her brown eyeshadow palette to full pink hues at the Star Magic Year 30 Catalogue Launch. Decoding the work of Jake Galvez, a cool-toned matte shade acts as the base of eye makeup. Meanwhile, a layer of iridescent shimmer is added on top to give a sense of glam to the look. The standout detail? The magenta floating eyeliner. Elsewhere, the celebrity makeup artist revealed that he used the Maybelline Cushion Matte Lip Tint in Pink Addiction on her lips.

“Barbie but make it Dior,” Catriona Gray described her barbiecore entry. Behind the look is no other than her most-trusted celebrity makeup artist Jelly Eugenio. Here, shimmers of pink dressed both her lids and her cheeks. In contrast to the softness of the hues, a dramatic smudged liner added definition to her eye makeup. As for the lips? A flattering pink base with a coat of gloss! To say the least, it’s the perfect look to wear at the premiere night.
