Bretman Rock went from our favorite beauty vlogger to multi-awarded digital celebrity, and he deserves it.
It was in 2016 that we discovered Bretman Rock’s Youtube vlogs where he reviews and tries on different makeup products. We knew early on that his creativity was going to take him places. Soon enough, he became one of the biggest multimedia stars. He was recently recognized as a Breakthrough Social Star in the MTV Movie & TV awards. It was a big deal not just for the Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI), but also to the LGBTQ+ communities to whom he dedicated the award he received. Now, Bretman Rock has been announced as Most Influential Social Media Personality for Beauty at the MEGA Fashion Awards 2021, co-presented by RLC Residences.
Beauty vlog beginnings
Over the years, the 22-year-old has collaborated with various trusted beauty brands such as Morphe, Colourpop, and Wet ‘n’ Wild to create his own makeup collections. The next step, we’re all hoping, would be his own makeup line. We can only imagine the kind of products he would include—and how he’d name them!
More than an influencer
With over 16 million followers on Instagram and 8.44 million YouTube subscribers, Bretman has surely come a long way. People may associate him as a beauty vlogger, but Bretman is more than that. According to his manager, Dru Sansenbach, Bretman is a comedian and a performer. His reality show, Bretman Rock, proves this. “Whenever I see a camera, I just want to perform for some reason,” Bretman said.
Aside from his successful TV show Bretman Rock made a cameo and lent his voice to fellow Fil-Am star Bella Poarch’s hit song and music video “Build a B*tch“.
We can’t wait what’s next for our favorite, Bretman. Although, whatever that is, he’s certainly going to surprise us, and he’s going to win—gain.
