The very good girl made a fashion statement as she welcomes a new era of her life
The fashion of Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo today mirrors her polished progress and maturity as an individual and artist. While it is no surprise to many that she is already venturing into choices and paths outside of her known public persona—with style a big aspect of it—every move she makes is one worth watching. That especially includes her contract renewal today with ABS-CBN, and the green Vania Romoff number she wore for the occasion.

Kathryn’s new classic look
The billowing sleeves of the “Safia” top was a voluminous flair veering from her usual style, making Kathryn stand out among the contract signees which included her very own mother, Min Bernardo, and the ABS-CBN executives. The pair of Jimmy Choo Averline 100 pumps and jewelry set from Mei Diamond Jewelry completed the drama of her look.
In a MEGA exclusive with Boop Yap, the stylist pointed out that Bernardo’s look was more than just an experimentation with the actress’ style. “The green color is an homage to ABS-CBN,” she revealed. This pertained to one of the rings in the logo of the network, an element symbolizing the reach of ABS-CBN to the three major island groups of the country—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. “The dramatic, billowing sleeves are quite different from her usual style. It’s a unique mix that’s both bold and understated, showing off Kathryn’s ability to shine in something new,” Yap concluded.
As for Kathryn’s beauty look, Owen Sarmiento kept it simple with a clean and natural glow for the actress. Meanwhile, hairstylist John Valle went for a middle parted bun, letting the flair of the number speak for itself. Finishing it off are her light nude nails courtesy of KathNails.
A testament of star status
At the event, ABS-CBN honored one of its brightest stars with an all-out occasion. Orchestra group Ace of Strings signaled the entrance of Kathryn in the main stage as she literally walked down memory lane through a photo wall of her memories as a Kapamilya welcoming her.
Dimples Romana, a previous co-actor and longtime friend of Kathryn, hosted the event. “I didn’t even think for a second. I need to be there. Kathryn didn’t change at all. If she did, it’s for the better. All the things she had to go through while all eyes were on her, she remained a professional, kind, human being that she is,” she pointed out, teary-eyed at times for her spiels.
In a series of videos, her friends, family, fans, and industry colleagues shared their appreciation, respect, and love for Bernardo not only as an actress but also as an individual. Lhexine, her niece, also gave a message to her aunt. “No matter what challenges you face, Always remember that you are valued and accepted. Be gentle with yourself and be kind to your heart.”
Her newfound voice
Shedding tears of fondness for her home network, Kathryn Bernardo underscored the importance of trust and respect in her decisions, whether professional or personal. “It’s really the friendship. It’s my appreciation because ang hirap sa industry na ‘to. It’s very hard but with these people, sinuportahan nila ako. Thank you for making time to get to know me, to understand me, and thank you for supporting my decisions in everything I do.
Last year was very very hard for me, it’s really hard to find friends in the industry. They made my life lighter. They made everything so much better. Thank you for staying and thank you for being with me through all this. Thank you for giving me the freedom to choose what would make me happy.”
As she concluded her speech, the Asia’s Superstar affirmed her loyalty and support to ABS-CBN. “More than the jobs and the projects, it’s really the people you meet on the way. I was able to build good relationships with other people. Medyo natagalan pero hindi dahil may iba. This is my second home. I would do anything for my family,” she said.
