After weeks of speculation, Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque finally took charge of their own narrative
Earlier today in a joint post on Instagram, Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque finally confirmed the end of their engagement. Their statement came with a photo of them in Duomo di Milano, a Catholic church in Italy.

Speaking their own word
“After much thought, consideration, and care, we have mutually decided to amicably end our engagement. It was not an easy decision. We wanted to have more time to carefully deliberate and pray about it, but there have been many speculations, questions, and insults,” they said.
With their separation announced a few weeks ago by several other platforms and individuals, Bea and Dom also felt the need to speak up for themselves on the matter. “Unfortunately, some even confirmed our break-up without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false,” their statement read.
Navigating their love story
In 2016, Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque met through comedienne and host Vice Ganda. At that time, the then-actor already had a crush on Alonzo. Although in the 2015 Star Magic Games, the actress already saw Dominic cute, but found him “too young” for her then.
Over the years, the two kept a steady friendship until in 2019, when they started seeing each other in a new light, thanks to the magic of the Japan sun.
Through the encouragement of their mutual friend and co-actor Ian Veneracion, Dominic took the courage to join Bea and her friend, Nina Ferrer, in their trip to the country. As the Kapuso star recalled, she started developing feelings for Dom as they shared a conversation during a train ride together.
After a courting stage that lasted more than a year, the actress confirmed with MEGA Entertainment in April 2021 that she was seeing Roque. “Wala pa kami, but he’s a good guy,” she said. They marked their first anniversary in January 2022. Last July 2023, the couple announced their engagement held at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar, as orchestrated by Roque. He disguised his proposal through a photoshoot for the actress.
As documented by Bea in her YouTube channel, their last trip as a couple was also in Japan, where their love story began. This time, they explored Sapporo and Otaru.
Concluding their joint statement, the couple requested for their privacy as they continue to process things. “Thank you for your understanding and support,” they ended.
