Find out how these influencers turned classic Filipino mythological characters into chic costumes at Tim Yap’s Shake, Rattle, and Ball party

The week of Halloween has commenced and one of the biggest celebrations happened just last night at the National Museum of Anthropology in Manila. Known for throwing the grandest parties, Tim Yap gathered celebrities and personalities with a theme that takes us back to a classic Filipino horror movie franchise, Shake, Rattle, and Roll. From mythological creatures to iconic characters, we spotted five influencers that embraced the theme in a chic manner.

Janeena Chan

Channeling the beauty of the Filipino magical bird, Ibong Adarna, the influencer opted to use a rather dynamic color palette for her costume. Her corset dress created by Ushi Sato was finished in bright pink and purple hues, while shades of blue were used to balance out the other colors. Feathers and sequins were placed to elevate the piece even more.

Rei Germar

The Bicolano demi-goddess, Oryol, was the inspiration for Rei Germar’s Shake, Rattle, and Ball costume by Mara Chua. She highlighted the demi-goddess’ ability to sing in a seductive voice by wearing a two-piece gold ensemble that includes a vine-like patterned breast plate and a custom liquid gold skirt, accentuating her figure.

EJ Nacion

Touching on the water scene, EJ Nacion went in as one of the most well-known mythical creatures: the Sirena. It’s one of the entities that has captured the hearts of many mythological fanatics because of their bewitching characteristics, and the influencer paid tribute to it by wearing a look that is both light yet seductive. The two-piece consisted of a bejeweled bralette and a blue see-through skirt, which was done in a mermaid tail silhouette.

Deo Cabrera

Based on the golden finish and the halo headdress, it seems like Deo Cabrera went in as the goddess of the sun, Tala. His costume was also done in a two-piece set that featured a corset decorated with various appliques, whereas the skirt had a high slit that went up to his upper thigh. Meanwhile, the headdress had a charming vibe to it because of the pearl placed at the center.

Chesca Cabrera

If there’s a goddess of the sun, then best believe that its alternative also arrived at the party. Chesca Cabrera went in as the goddess of the night to complement her brother. Her Mayari-inspired dress had a rather sultry yet dreamy vibe to it because of the soft tulle and embellishments that went across her torso. Meanwhile, her headdress was finished with rays while dainty silver vines cascaded upwards.
