In this year’s Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) held in Dubai, Kylie received her Best Actress Award for the film The Housemaid—a thriller-erotic adaptation of the Korean film with the same name. The actress attended the event last November 4 donning a black and pink ballgown by designer Mark Bumgarner.
In the movie, the beauty queen-turned-actress starred as Daisy, an au pair who joined the household of a rich family. Complications arose when the patriarch, played by Albert Martinez, started showing attraction towards Kylie’s character. Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose and Louise delos Reyes also join the cast, and the film was directed by Ramon Perez, Jr.
“Today, I feel like winning another crown,” Kylie said in her acceptance speech. “Nothing ever beats the feeling of winning something for your own country.”
Congratulations for a well-deserved accomplishment, Kylie!
