Male Personalities Rocked Shake, Rattle, and Ball in These Halloween Costumes

Dressed in outfits inspired by Filipino legends, myths, and pop culture, these men owned the Halloween spotlight at the Shake, Rattle, and Ball

In a quest to honor our rich Filipino mythology, Tim Yap summoned the Shake Rattle and Ball: The Alamat Exhibition Gala this year at the National Museum of Anthropology. Amidst the spooky shadows, different celebrities and personalities embraced our tradition and culture with their Filipino-inspired Halloween guises. Here are six gentlemen in attendance who sent chills and even some laughter throughout the night with their striking looks:

Donny Pangilinan

Donny Pangilinan made a powerful entrance dressed as Captain Barbell looking like he’s ready to save the night. His Can’t Buy Me Love leading lady, Belle Mariano, dressed as Darna, looked just as captivating by his side. Together, they undoubtedly arrived as a dynamic duo of might and wonder.

LA Aguinaldo

Social media personality LA Aguinaldo transformed into a majestic Mulawin. With armor in shades of green and gold and wings outstretched, he soared through the night by becoming a fearless warrior from the skies. 

Mond Gutierrez 

Mond Gutierrez made an appearance at the gathering in a sleek all-black outfit, complete with a top featuring a stylish low neckline and a black hat, which he explained was a nod to his veteran action star dad, Eddie Gutierrez. Notably, Mond is also gearing up for his own Halloween event, the Opulence Ball.

Markki Stroem

Actor and singer Markki Stroem celebrated Filipino culture in style for his Halloween look, showcasing our heritage by wearing a costume made from Filipino textiles. In his Instagram post, he shared that his inspiration came from a visit to Zamboanga, where he met Yakan Weavers. He also explained that this look is his own creative spin on the classic Filipino witch or mangkukulam. In his caption, he urged everyone to explore our history by visiting our national museums, such as the Museum of Anthropology, to experience our heritage through art.

Alexander Diaz

As if plucked from the pages of an age-old Filipino myth, Alexander Diaz took on the appearance of an ancient Filipino warrior, exuding strength and radiance with his golden embellishments.

Together with Rhian Ramos and Verzosa, fashion designer Chris Nick turned heads at the Halloween celebration as he channeled one of the Twins from Trese—the loyal protectors by Alexandra Trese in her supernatural escapades.
