MEGA Fashion Awards 2024: Official Nominees for The Next Model

MEGA Fashion Awards 2024: Official Nominees for The Next Model

By

These models to watch are changing the game on the runway and are proving to be an enduring force within the fashion industry

When it comes to fashion, models are an integral part of the dialogue. On the runway, they don the splendor, detail, craftsmanship, and savoir faire of artisans. Whether it’s ensembles freshly plucked from a designer’s collection or unique vintage pieces dug up from the archives, this class of models is one to watch for the MEGA Fashion Awards (MFA) 2024 as they rewrite the rules in high-inch heels.

Hartshorne Sisters

Fashion’s favorite model-sister duo share many things—beautiful, black manes, carefree, and humble attitudes, and aptitudes for posing. Angelina and Renée prove that skill, looks, and talent run in their bloodline, considering their laundry list of industry accomplishments—from fronting major beauty and fashion editorials to ruling a magazine cover together.

The duo is consistently on MEGA editorials, events, and pages. Both were also in attendance at the MEGA Ball Afterparty 2024 last June, graced MEGA’s July 2024 main fashion story, and are on the cover of MEGA’s latest September 2024 issue: 50 Models of the Moment.

Brea Umali

Quickly becoming a fashion fixture, Brea Umali is recognized for her walk, admired for her looks, and lauded for her dynamic or still shots, both here in Manila and London. While fashion is always changing, the international model’s face is one that endures. Her expressions add depth and character to the clothes she’s presenting, whether on stage, in a campaign, or on the pages of the magazine.

Umali modeled for the local love story on the MEGA July 2024 Issue as well as the beauty editorial for the MEGA March 2023 issue.

Raejell Roxas

Raejell Roxas’s dynamic presence and unique look have made her a muse for some of the country’s Filipino beauty brands including Issy and Lucky Beauty; she also starred in a music video for artist No Rome. But the model’s influence is felt far beyond the runway; her visibility in the fashion industry as a queer model is a powerful force and a beacon for diversity for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Aside from the cover of MEGA’s latest September 2024 issue: 50 Models of the Moment, the model also posed for MEGA’s November 2023 Fashion Feature, MEGA Beauty Awards 2022 Winners, MEGA’s February 2024 Issue, and MEGA’s photos for the SoFA Graduation Show 2024.

Queenie Tao

This morena beauty didn’t quite fit the strict modeling standard prevalent years back: athletic build, bronze skin, round and soft features. But Queenie Tao has found a way to interject her fierce, compelling, and confident aura onto catwalk shows, campaigns, and shoots, transforming the way morena models are viewed.

Also on the cover of MEGA’s latest September 2024 issue: 50 Models of the Moment, Queenie Tao modeled for MEGA Young Designers Competition winner Prince Padilla for the July 2024 issue, BENCH Paskong TernoCon 2023, and the MEGA September 2023 Fashion Feature.

Bethany Talbot

Model, athlete, and proud member of the queer community, Bethany Talbot can dominate both in cleats and in heels. In accomplishing the different demands of her passions and pursuits, “modeling with some muscles” is a love affair she’ll continue to pursue and succeed in.

Bethany modeled for MEGA’s Women to Watch in 2023, MEGA’s Faces of Now in May 2024, MEGA’s March 2024 fashion feature, and Opulence Ball 2023.
