The romantic and cultured city of Paris is definitely a major style inspiration. Parisian fashion embodies an effortlessly classy approach, and it’s nonchalantly elegant by nature. It seems like the cliché beret is making a comeback this season, as the quirky hats are being utilized as statement pieces to either embellish a minimalist or a Gucci-approved maximalist look.
For Gucci’s Resort collection, creative director Alessandro Michele jazzed up the line with knit versions of the accessory, which later on appealed to the fashion crowd. In fact, celebrities clearly got the memo as they incorporated this accessory to their street style.
Rihanna wore a leather beret with her dark blue wool overcoat at Dior’s Fall show at Paris Fashion Week, and Bella Hadid elevated checks and bike shorts in a similar style while out and about in the city.
