Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel wore a navy number by Filipino designer Chynna Mamawal
R’Bonney Gabriel returned to the Miss Universe stage, this time as host for the 73rd Miss Universe preliminary round. She hosted in style as she wore a navy blue gown by Filipino designer Chynna Mamawal—a perfect foil to her co-host Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios’ fiery red number. The look was polished, poised, and a power move for Filipino talent on the world stage.

Whether she’s sporting a crown or holding the mic, R’Bonney knows how to work the spotlight. Her hosting look at the preliminaries was a mix of classic and contemporary, courtesy of Chynna Mamawal’s design.
R’Bonney’s look hinged on the bubble peplum hem, which gave her gown a playful structure. She paired it with a gold 3D-printed choker from jewelry brand Jude Benhalim. On Instagram, the host gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her hosting preparations: body shimmer, contour, and the all-important accessory final touches.
It’s not her first rodeo with the designer, as the Filipino-American graced the runway for Mamawal’s Spring/Summer 2025 debut at New York Fashion Week. From the stage to the runway, she’s all in on elevating Filipino creativity wherever she goes.
