Make your adventures more epic and eco-friendly with automobiles that are run entirely or mostly on electricity. These vehicles consume little to no fossil fuels, have fewer moving components, and have minimal operating expenses. Due to the growing carbon footprint and other adverse environmental effects brought by cars, the idea of using electric vehicles or EVs is being promoted further. In 2018, the first fully-electric passenger car in the Philippines was launched. Today, more electric vehicles are readily available in the country.

Here are some exciting e-cars available in the Philippines that are perfect for the hustle and bustle of the city:

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available locally in two variants: The Standard Range and Long Range. These versions only differ in battery size, but both have amazing features like faster charging, increased range, and enhanced towing capabilities. With its top speed of 185 km/h and driving range of up to 507 km, this all-electric SUV is perfect for your next road trip. Its base variant is around PHP 3.1 million, while the Long Range is approximately PHP 3.7 million. The Ioniq 5 was also recognized globally and received awards like the 2022 World Car of the Year, 2022 German Car of the Year, and 2022-2023 Japan Import Car of the Year.

Audi E-Tron

After its international debut in Europe, Audi’s first electronic vehicle is now also available in the country. With its 300 kW of power and a range of up to 405 km, Audi E-Tron can surely give you an exciting ride that hugs the road. This five-seater SUV perfectly balances style and comfort with its great features like keyless entry, 360-degree camera, LED headlights, and adaptive air suspension. An Audi E-Tron in the Philippines is worth around PHP 4.4 million. 

BMW iX

SMC Asia Car Distributors Inc., the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, has also embraced the transition to an e-future by introducing the BMW iX. This luxury mid-size electric SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, and has a maximum speed of 200 km/h. With its range up to 425 km, this e-car is perfect for your next adventure. A BMW iX costs PHP 6.29 million in the Philippines

Weltmeister W5

One of the newest automakers to enter the Filipino market is WM Motors Philippines and they started with a bang with W5, a five-seater SUV that offers features like a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and an N95 cabin air filtration system. For its price of around PHP 2.54 million, it surely is a great deal for this fun-to-drive electric vehicle that has 160 kW of power and a maximum range of 400 km.

Porsche Taycan

Porsche Philippines previously only offered the Taycan Turbo S, but with the addition of the Taycan, the lineup has grown to two options that are ideal for your needs. Unlike the all-wheel-drive Turbo S, the Porsche Taycan is rear-wheel drive and is driven by a pure-electric powertrain. Aside from its sleek and sophisticated style, this model can also run from zero to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 230 km/h. This top-of-the-line e-vehicle is offered around PHP 9 million, which is half the price of the Taycan Turbo S.

Nissan Kicks e-Power

Nissan Philippines recently introduced the Nissan Kicks e-Power, which takes a different route to electrification. It is a perfect combination of the advantages of a hybrid vehicle with the power of a pure electric motor. It uses electricity to power the wheels and a gasoline engine that serves as a power generator to charge the electric motor’s battery when needed. One of its key features is its vehicle dynamic control or VDC. The e-Power’s VDC automatically reduces engine power and applies brake pressure to specific wheels in low-traction situations when it detects over or understeer. The Nissan Kicks e-Power ranges fromPHP 1.23 to PHP 1.53 million in the Philippines.
