SB19 represents the new wave of Filipino music, and they join Billboard Philippines in making history as cover stars for its maiden issue

Celebrating half a decade as one of P-Pop’s finest groups, SB19 adds another milestone to their career by debuting once again. But this time, as cover stars of Billboard Philippines’ maiden issue.

Striking the charts

In a teaser photo posted by the music publication, Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh made a striking presence in their red ensembles as they leaned against the wall. Although the story has yet to be released on Billboard PH’s official launch on October 15, the global title has long recognized SB19’s impact in the music industry.

Last January 2022, their track “Bazinga” broke the record for staying at the top spot of the Hot Trending Songs chart for seven weeks. This said list bases its data from Twitter, where fans and the general audience all over the world can express their support for their chosen songs and artists from Friday to Thursday each week. 10 months later, in November, SB19 found themselves on the same chart this time for “WYAT (Where You At),” as it landed on the fourth spot.

After the release of PAGTATAG!’s first single, “GENTO,” in May of this year, the track made its way to reach the eighth spot at the the World Digital Song Sales chart. This was then followed by the EP release a month later and a Fan Army Face-Off win for their fans, the A’TIN, last August.

Bridging the boundaries

Besides their Billboard Philippines stint, the quintet continues to expand their artistry in various ways. This week, they released their Spotify-exclusive series called Atin Atin Lang. During the first episode, they talked about their MBTI personalities and delved into different relationships.

In a 41-minute livestream more than a week ago, they also announced the launch of their own company, 1Z Entertainment. According to the group’s pinuno, Pablo, their collective aims to “hone breakthrough artists who express their limitless creativity and passion through groundbreaking music, arts, and entertainment in an ecosystem that is in the zone.” He also added that the company’s foundation lies on creativity, integrity, growth, innovation, and quality—values that the industry shapers reflect in their current craftsmanship.

Later this month, Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken, and Justin will kick off their five-year anniversary with a fan meet at the Araneta Coliseum on October 28. They will also include Singapore, Thailand, and Dubai the following month for their next legs.
