And we love to see it.
Megastar Sharon Cuneta has always been an elusive character. Though she’s open about posting tidbits of life on social media, rarely do we see her letting loose. Until Revirginized came along.
In the new project by VIVA Films and Vincentiments, we see a side of the star in her most amped-up role yet: the ‘revirginized’ Carmela.
The trailer starts off with Carmela entering a crazy 24/7 beach party complete with body shots, fire dances, and a perpetually intoxicated young crowd. We then find out that she only reluctantly joined her god-daughter in the hopes of forgetting her ex-husband, played by Albert Martinez. We also find out that they only got married because they got pregnant at a young age.
After some reluctance in joining the debauchery, Carmela meets a young beach resident played by Marco Gumabao, who pushes her to join the festivities and finally put herself first.
Thus begins the never-ending rave as Carmela lets loose, blurts profanities left and right, and finally experiences the youth she never had – all with Darrel Yap’s signature blunt directing style.
In an Instagram post, the star shared that the role was one for the books.
“In the end, no matter how our movie does or what people say, I will still ALWAYS LOVE CARMELA, my character in ‘Revirginized,’” Sharon captioned. “At sa mga bashers, pag 55 na kayo at malapit lapit ang itchura nyo sa akin ngayon, chaka lang kayo magkaka-K mandiri!”
There’s no way to see just yet how Sharon will end up portraying Carmela’s story, but with what we’ve seen so far, it’ll be interesting to see how far the Megastar will take her acting chops.
