The humble beginnings
“It was really more of a personal project with the Do Day Dream when we started SNAILWHITE [in the country],” shares Brand Manager Misha Segarra. Do Day Dream (DDD) was initially built more than a decade ago with the objective to operate in Thailand as an original equipment manufacturer, and to provide business consultations relating to beauty products. Later in 2013, the company began its venture as a distributor of skincare products under the trademark NAMU LIFE. The first product, SNAILWHITE Moisture Facial Cream, immediately took Thailand—and soon enough, the Philippines—by storm.
“We knew that the skincare market in the Philippines was still lacking a brand that was premium and accessible at the same time… We saw it as a chance to really promote healthy glowing skin to Filipinas with products that have strong efficacy and a brand that is fun and empowering,” the brand manager explains.
The glowing moment
What then started as a Watsons e-commerce exclusive five years ago eventually grew a viral SkinTok status nationwide, with SNAILWHITE Whipp Soap at the forefront. SNAILWHITE also earned recognitions from retailers and media publications for being Watsons’ top beauty brand the following year. “A lot has changed since,” says Misha, referring to the brand’s expansion to several categories in body care, brightening, and sun protection with celebrities, content creators, and a whole lot of skin care aficionados.
This year, on its fifth anniversary, SNAILWHITE completes its head-to-toe glow regimen with the brand’s latest glowing goddess for the anti-aging category: the beloved Pambansang Tita Small Laude. “There are definitely a lot of exciting innovations the brand has in-store for the Philippine market,” Brand Manager Misha Segarra says. “We’ll introduce a lot more products across all our segments with more targeted solutions for different skin needs.”
Now with four SNAILWHITE goddesses embodying timeless beauty and elegance on board, the brand promises one thing: although it’s a brand new year for them, the manifesto remains: glowing skin is always in. Such an ethos is governed by DDD’s philosophy that when the skin has been repaired and restored to health, each person’s beauty will be revealed and she will shine in her own way.
