The beauty of being in another season of your life is having the chance to change up your look as well. Feeling a renewed sense of energy on the inside can translate to choosing a new hairstyle, updating your wardrobe, or both. This year, we saw this transformation in Kathryn Bernardo, Nadine Lustre, Janella Salvador, Francine Diaz, and Belle Mariano. 2023 was indeed a year of growth for these women, and here’s how they reflected it through their choices in beauty and style.

Going bolder and braver
In her cinematic comeback, Kathryn went dark as Philo. This meant dyeing her hair jet black and sporting a smokey eye. Dressing the part indeed helped for her to channel the vengeful character. As herself, the switch was evident, too. Her newfound confidence is reflected through her clothing pieces that show much more skin, as well as her orange hair color.
Refinement at its best
Structured pieces, quiet maximalism, and asymmetry sum up Nadine’s 2023 fashion style. Long before her first attendance to Paris Fashion Week, her outfits have already been transitioning to this look. As she turned 30 this year, the actress has been solidifying her life decisions, and that includes her commitment to use vegan-friendly brands. When it comes to her hair, we saw a few changes within the year. She went for a blunt fringe, then a textured lob-turned-bob. Switching from one role to another, she also had to go from lighter to darker shades of brown from time to time.
Make it a mane event
In true fiery Aries fashion, Janella welcomed her season with an orange bob. She later on revived her iconic Valentina mane with a blonde streak, only with a shorter length. The actress is ending the year with the beginning in mind, opting for a cherry red shade to match the staple color of the holidays.
In sweet, graceful steps
Maturity doesn’t mean a sudden shift for Francine. For the actress, she is slowly but surely growing into the fine woman that she wants to be. For the Star Magical Prom held last March, the Dirty Linen star opted for a yellow ball gown fit for a princess. Later in September, the actress-vlogger wowed many with her fringe and waves at the ABS-CBN Ball. Instead of another ball gown, Francine wore a straight cut design with strategic cutouts.
A character act
Belle’s past characters have shared one thing in common: their casual, comfort-over-anything street style. Caroline Tiu, however, is not like her other roles. Coming from a rich Chinese clan, she looks polished, pristine, and pretty all the time. In a way, this manner of dressing has rubbed off on the Can’t Buy Me Love actress as she is leaning towards neutral pieces that you can mix and match. Think vests, maxi skirts, slingbacks, and pumps. Indeed, there is still more to come from Belle with this fashion transformation, and we can’t wait.
