These Gen Z Stars Can Be Your Next Sex and the City Power Clique

And just like that, we present our ideal casting if Sex and the City were set in the Philippines ten years from now.

Imagine, 10 years from now, what the Philippines could be like. Hopefully, we are in a more progressive state when it comes to a wider range of topics, sex included. While we already have a number of shows in our media roster tackling this important yet taboo subject in the country, there is still nothing like Sex and the City that shows women empowerment and sex positivity.

In the future, who knows? We might see a local reboot of the series or even at least a show that captures its essence. Upon taking our Sex and the City fantasies in the local picture, here are our best bets for the four-women power cast.

Kyline Alcantara as Carrie Bradshaw

For Carrie, we need someone who can play a wide-eyed hopeless romantic who, when her brain gets the best of her, can make the saddest yet logical decisions she could in her life. Kyline can perfectly portray a strong woman who has a soft side, but ultimately knows what she deserves. Bonus points to the fact that Kyline can rock Sarah Jessica Parker’s curls!

Xyriel Manabat as Samantha Jones

Daring, feisty, and unapologetically herself, Sam needs a strong woman who lives by her own rules to play her. Since her childhood days, Xyriel has proven that she can exceed expectations when it comes to acting. Having the ability to show vulnerability with humor, wit, and strength is part of Samantha’s core, and Xyriel is an easy choice for the Philippine version of Sex and the City

Francine Diaz as Charlotte York

While some people see Charlotte as a quieter member of the clique, she, too, knows how to stand up for herself and make choices for own well-being. Francine embodies a sweet girl vibe like Charlotte, with a side that knows what she wants. There is a certain delicate balance in her character that no other than Francine can emulate with her soft features.

Andrea Brillantes as Miranda Hobbes

Last but not the least, we have our hardworking legal girl Miranda who seems tough and ready for anything, but can get off guard when certain situations happen. Andrea is the perfect choice for Miranda because she can portray the gender neutral side of the character and even rock her iconic pixie cut. With her and Xyriel having a true friendship in real life, the chemistry between their possible characters will be natural.
