They say timing is everything, and this moment couldn’t have been more perfect. A fast-rising designer to the stars such as Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda, and with two consecutive MEGA covers with Nadine Lustre, Kisses Delavin and Maymay Entrata, Neric Beltran isn’t going anywhere anytime soon and here’s why.
1. HE BEGAN AS A CAPES AND GARMENTS DESIGNER FOR A LIFE-SIZED STATUE
From sequins to pearls, embellishments are a clear forte of Neric Beltran
Through his mother, he learned how to design, even being familiarized with the clothing business. Soon enough, Neric found himself designing capes and garments for his family’s life-sized Immaculate Concepcion statue every feast day.
2. HE THEN WORKED AS A STYLIST AND COSTUME DESIGNER FOR ABS-CBN
From a sideline that catered to specific costume requirements, Neric built his own atelier, which now caters to the brightest stars in the industry.
3. THE DETAILS ARE PERFECTLY SPOT ON
Intricate patterns paired with cool outerwear is Neric’s new aesthetic
“My favorite part about creating garments is the embellishments. Sometimes the results give me a rush to change the certain pattern for me to add more,” he quips. This is where Neric pushes his design boundaries, melding together his love for embellishments and the coolness of street style.
4. HIS CREATIONS ARE FILLED WITH FANTASY
We crack open the chapters of fantasy and live out personal and collective dreams in the pages of this year’s anniversary issue. And just like every great narrative, this story needed a wide-eyed and impressionable lead to anchor the fairy tale down. Meet Maymay Entrata, our modern-day Cinderella who unlike the archetype of our childhood, is every inch real, charming, expressive and more importantly, with a story to tell. Living out a royal fantasy in the snowy expanse of Heidelberg Castle, the most sparkling next big thing holds her own as if telling us that her moment has truly come. . Here, Maymay Entrata is wearing a blue tulle ballgown by Neric Beltran. . Of course, we would not leave out our current cover girl Nadine Lustre on the list. Not only does Neric create gowns and costumes, he can also make custom swimwear as evidenced in our splashing April issue. “It’s a never ending discovery. I know I still have a lot to learn and discover. I consider myself a student eager to learn and express,” he shares.
With his love for discovery, paired with his humility, highly skilled hands, creativity and a whole team behind him, it will only be a matter of time for his dreams to become a reality.
