These might just be the perfect places for a quick escape from reality or a chill night out

Regardless of the occasion, it’s hard to count out the topic of a wine night. Unlike other alcoholic drinks, it’s something that’s more fitting toward a refined setting as it fits better with most culinary options.

Fortunately, the concept of wine bars exists, with most of these scattered around Metro Manila. Here, we run down 10 establishments that offer the finest wine experience and the tastiest delicacies to complement it.

Vitto’s

Located in Tomas Morato is Vitto’s Wine Bar and Restaurant. With an unli-wine promo from Sunday to Tuesday, they offer selections from Italy, France, Spain, and Chile among others. Cuisine primarily draws inspiration from Italian, Spanish, and Mexican tastes.

Dr. Wine

Tracing its roots from Shanghai, Dr. Wine arrived locally five years ago. Aside from the wide wine selection is authentic French cuisine. Overall, it is an establishment that attempts to replicate an authentic French bistro feel and ambiance with its branches in BGC and Poblacion. Additionally, they also have a happy hour promo from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. daily where patrons get unlimited servings of in-house wine.

Cork Wine Bar and Shop

French wines take center stage for BGC’s Cork Wine Bar and Shop. From newer ones to vintage bottles, all are available in Cork’s cellar that doubles as their full wine menu. These can be accompanied by food choices that range from small and easy bites such as a cheese platter, or full meals in a pasta or steak serving.

Interior-wise, Cork was designed with a contemporary philosophy by Italy’s Cassanova Interiors—one that can hide the full range of their wine choices.

Barcino

One of Barcino’s biggest advantages is its accessibility, with 16 total branches as of 2022. For this one, Spanish flavors accompany their wines, which mostly range from European and South American selections.

The Artisan Cellar Door

A quick look at The Artisan Cellar Door might be intimidating considering its premium selections that are backed up by an equally premium interior. Regardless, on top of being a wine bar, it also has its own retail shop along with the usual bar and lounge area, plus private dining options.

A restaurant by day, La Petite Parisienne Manila turns into a wine bar by night. Similar to Cork and Dr. Wine, it’s inspired in one way or another by France. Along with its wine options from the former, La Petite Parisienne attempts to balance out a wine bar and Parisian cafe for its experience.

Txanton

Aside from being a wine bar, Txanton in Makati prides itself as the country’s first jamóneria. Simply put, jamón is a dry-cured ham from Spain that is a known staple of their cuisine. Being the first local jamóneria, Txanton patrons can pair their wide wine collection with this delicacy and other Spanish-inspired dishes.

Fino Deli

Within Marikina Heights is Fino Deli, which offers its customers a mix of Italian and Spanish tastes. In a local context, it still holds the honor of being Marikina’s lone wine bar.
