She might have played Senior High’s Z, but there’s more to her than just acting that makes her a sure A+

The name Daniela Stranner consistently comes up when people talk about Senior High today. As Zyra Guerrero, also known as Z, she was more than just the antagonist who wanted to be the best at everything in school. She gave life to the role by exhibiting Z’s various struggles as a daughter, sister, student, and friend in the series. By the end of the show, she made buzz not just for her role, but more so because of herself.

After the youth-oriented series, the 21-year-old is booked and busy yet again with another upcoming show called Pamilya Sagrado. Together with fellow Northford graduate Kyle Echarri and guest star Grae Fernandez, she joined the star-studded cast led by Piolo Pascual. But before we witness another groundbreaking performance from the actress, here are a few reasons why we should all root for Daniela’s success in show business.

Getting the seal of approval

Even before Daniela started acting, industry starmaker Johnny Manahan already saw something in her. After getting casted at the mall, she received a callback and bested 29 talents. After meeting Mr. M, the rest was history. On that same day, she received her two-year contract. As the saying goes, when you know, you know.

Even Cathy Garcia-Sampana, who directed Love at First Stream, saw her potential. Calling Stranner “a good actress” and “one of the better ones,” the filmmaker knew that she had so much to offer and contribute to the craft. “‘Pag nalaman ng tao at nakita nila kung ano ang kayang ibigay ni Daniela, they would love her, too,” the director said.

Choosing wiser decisions

After a six-month hiatus from acting due to an issue back then, the Kapamilya talent learned a few things from her experience. First was about knowing who to trust. Second, keeping things private allowed more room for peace. Today, she is more focused on establishing her career more than anything else, and we stan a young woman who is firm on her decisions.

Going at par with the veterans

On Love at First Stream, it was Agot Isidro. Then came Mylene Dizon on Fractured. For Senior High, there were Baron Geisler, Mon Confiado, and Desiree Del Valle. It’s no joke that Daniela needed to act alongside these established names in the industry. Surely, though, this was one of the ways she could continuously hone her talent in acting. For Pamilya Sagrado, the star-studded cast including lead actor Piolo Pascual, Shaina Magadayao, Rosanna Roces, Mylene Dizon, Aiko Melendez, John Arcilla, and Tirso Cruz III could be her new teachers to acting. One day, she also dreams to work again with Enrique Gil and do a project with Kathryn Bernardo as well.

Playing versatility is her ace

Although she is now typecast as a kontrabida, Daniela mentioned in an interview that she is definitely game for anything. Good thing for the actress, she already knew how to say yes to roles that showcased her ability to reflect the character’s different sides. Case in point, her character V or Vilma on Love at First Stream and of course, Z on Senior High.

Knowing her priorities

As she gets older in the industry, the actress still knows her priority at the end of the day. It’s her family. Acknowledging the support that her parents, siblings, and even her extended relatives have given her to pursue her career, Daniela is ready to give back to them. “They sacrifice a lot of things for me here,” she pointed out. “Number one priority ko is my mom.”
