Take your cues from global fashion icon Heart Evangelista on how to style a bob and other shorter hairstyles with hair decor
From her sense of style to her makeup routine, there are many lessons you can learn from Heart Evangelista. Not least of all is her hair evolution, which, for the past year, has been on the short end. The fashion influencer continuously proves that short hair can be styled in a multitude of ways and that if you’re smart about the way you accessorize, you won’t ever lack in variety. We’ve talked plenty about the way she styles her short tresses; now, let’s take a look at how she decorates her bobs with hair ornaments.

There is an undeniable appeal to symmetry, so take your first cue from this classic rendition of the clipped hairstyle. Here, Heart’s French bob is parted down the middle and the front pieces are neatly pulled back and secured with a matching set of black hair clips. It’s classic, understated, and adds that youthful, almost Y2K charm to your look.

Speaking of Y2K charm, Heart proves that mini butterfly accessories are going nowhere. In this look, she maintains the symmetrical appeal as well by using the matching set of butterfly bobby pins on either side of her head. She further elevates these hair ornaments by sticking to gold monochrome, melding fashion and functionality together by drawing the small front pieces back in an artful cascade.
While symmetry has its merit, don’t feel limited to it. Another great style idea would be to place all your barrettes on one side for a fashion-forward angle.
