Ever since breaking in the international scene by starring in two of Bong Joon Ho’s movies namely Okja then Parasite, Choi Woo Shik’s name has been on radar. A few months ago, he was once again lighting up the internet for his new role. For the first time, Choi Woo Shik was casted in a romantic Korean drama alongside Korean actress Kim Da Mi in Netflix hit show, Our Beloved Summer. The story was sold as a romantic comedy at first, with two exes meeting again after a long time and have to work together, but as the story unfolded, the drama tells more than a story of love, but of life and all the joy, grief, and growing that come with it.
The two actors’ stellar performance and sweet chemistry even off camera contributed to the drama’s success, and trending in Twitter each time an episode was released is testament to that. Before acting sweet and lovey-dovey with Kim Da Mi in Our Beloved Summer, they acted as mortal enemies in the film The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion. Their chemistry works even if in the film they try to kill each other. Their good rapport with each other as lovers in their new project together is also because of their long standing friendship as well.
