Archive pieces made an appearance as Zendaya and Jenna Ortega arrived in these award shows
The fashion industry trains one’s eye to look beyond the piece—where the material becomes more than clothing, designs represent a message, and concepts transcend current perceptions. Fashion is an art form that immortalizes a creativity in a certain time from a certain person, and we get to see this happen as fashion houses archive pieces of the past.

And just recently, three archival pieces made it to the outside world thanks to actresses Zendaya and Jenna Ortega and their awards show attendance.
Zendaya in vintage Versace
For the first archival piece that made an appearance at the NAACP Image Awards, Zendaya wore a vintage Versace dress from the Spring 2002 collection. The piece was done in a sultry manner with its plunging neckline and figure-hugging silhouette, but it was ahead of its time with the striking neon green hues that traced along the bust, hips, and down the train. It goes without saying that the green detail did its job in elevating the dress.
Zendaya in vintage Prada
Zendaya’s second look of the night was another archival piece from Prada’s Spring/Summer 1993 collection. This look was more on the toned down and casual side as the white coordinates featured star cutouts by the bralette and waistline of the full-length skirt.
Jenna Ortega in vintage Versace
As for SAG nominee Jenna Ortega, she opted to honor her role in the hit series Wednesday with her edgy leather dress. The archive piece dates back to 1994 from Versace’s Fall/Winter collection designed by the late designer himself, Gianni Versace.
The leather material had a crumpled and ripple finish while a draping was done from her right hip down to the train. Sultry details were added in the piece as seen on the high slit, fitted bodice, and the asymmetrical neckline.
