Japanese fast fashion giant, Uniqlo is no stranger to big collaborations. Following their successful second collection with British brand and designer, JW Anderson, they’re bringing another exciting assemblage for the LifeWear range this summer featuring designs by Bottega Veneta’s creative director and internationally-renowned designer, Tomas Maier.

The line represents Uniqlo’s entry into the resort wear field fusing Maier’s “escape” philosophy with the Japanese brand’s commitment to creating high-quality clothing that’s the perfect blend of wearability and beautiful minimalist design sensibilities made for everyone, everywhere. Absolutely up Uniqlo’s alley of clean design, Maier brings his fascination with all things “designed” from contemporary to classic—bringing elements of sophistication and understatement.
The collection features orange, yellow, and other resort-ready hues inspired by the sun-kissed splendor of Florida, Maier’s place of origin, as well as the brand’s palm tree motif for the womenswear line that includes dresses, camisoles, a polo sweater, and swimwear.
Darker hues like black, khaki, and navy rule the smart menswear range that offers coordination flexibility with jackets, t-shirts, polo shirts, and easy trousers.
Speaking on the collaboration, Tomas Maier said, “Our new collection is designed to work in many different ways. Beach attire can turn into lounge wear, casual cover-ups paired with polo shirts can easily be worn in town—this is the concept of my brand. Things work in many ways. Even if bought for a special trip or occasion the customer will soon discover these garments adapt to a year-round life.”
Be on the lookout as the Tomas Maier Uniqlo collection is set to launch on Friday, May 18 in select Uniqlo stores.
